Has anyone else experienced this glitch?

Post » Mon Jun 14, 2010 12:25 am

I have this weird glitch that happens every now and then. Actually there's two. The first happens to a couple of characters I make every now and then. When I bring up the journal and see the model of my character with my weapon drawn, their front half of the body, from head to toe is slightly illuminated, kinda like a light spell. Not a major glitch but rather annoying when I see it in the journal. The character is not illuminated in the game however e.e. when actually playing, moving ect ... The second glitch is a majpr one that has happened on two characters. Somehow, while in the forest or where, I try to auto wait and it says enemies are near. I have searched the are many times and there are no enemies nor danger music. And it happened anytime I was outside a city. So basically the auto wait function was highjacked from my game. I play on PS3 if it helps anyone. Just wanted to know if there is a way to fix either glitch or if anyone can confirm that I am not the only one. Thanks.

I don′t know about the first one. But I think it′s enough that any animal is nearby, even non-hostile ones, and that you can′t wait because of that. Correct me if I′m wrong, guys

I don't think its any animal because there was absolutely nothing around me. And its only happened on a few characters to where its a chronic problem. I wait all the time with characte.rs in the wild to know that when it happens its glitch

You can check out http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Glitches and see if you find what you′re looking for. If not, at least it′s an entertaining read :)

Just looked and neither of my glitches were up on that sight. Is it possible for a single copy of Oblivion like just my disk is bugged with a glitch or something that causes that?

It is possible, however I can′t tell. I should advise you to make a post in the techforum. Someone there might help you since I have never come across these problems

The creature near or bright eye is a bit of a glitch, just save then reload from menu as that usually solves it, if the creature has moved out of range that is.

Try a long range detect life first though, as this makes creatures easier to spot when the glitch first happens.

The characters always brighter for me in menu, as i allows easy use to see what equipment they're wearing imo.
This was taken indoors at a darkened area..

You are my new best friend :D jk but thank you soooo much. That fixed the light glitch that was irritating me! The glitch has no affect at all upon gameplay but it irritated the hell out of me, like an itch you can't scratch. The other glitch I havnt run into on this char yet so I won't worry about it. When the un able to wait glitch happens that's like a painful muscle cramp that you can't get out. Once again thank you for the solution. And thank you Mirocu for that link and trying to help me :)

Glad it was a simple problem :) Believe me I know how irritating small problems can be.

Happy gaming :foodndrink:

I've had the enemy near glitch. I just find a doorway or entry with a load point to reset me into a new area. usually it clears the bug.

1. I have seen that very faint glow outline before as well. I get this faint glow on my character, when I am wearing enchanted gear. Usually if it's a shield enchantment. Take off your gear, and it goes away. (360)

2. The second one is not a glitch. There is an enemy somewhere on the outer edge of your radar. For me, each and every time, it's a mud crab. Run about 300 yards in one direction and try fast traveling again. Don't know about the city part. One time, my early level character was running down a road, heard danger, kept running, ran to a town to get guard help, and turned around to see four wolves and a troll following him. Perhaps the enemy followed for a while.

Well I know about the enchanted faint glow haha, that I couldn't figure out when I first got the game. No this glow is very different. Like I said you don't see it on your character while playing. It only shows up when you in your journal on the routatable model of your character. It is only on the front half of his body and it looks like a torch is being held next to him. When I spin the character to a side view, its not on his back or sides, just the front. But thanks to Murdoc I fixed it.
