Shortly after one gains the pipboy there is a small animation of the screen being wiped off. I have to ask though... The dirt is supposed to go away right?

In my game when I see the pipboy there is a now fully black image of where the smudges were, covering a good portion of the screen and making it impossible to see some of the things on display, such as the stats on clothing and armor.

IS there a way to make this go away? It's quite annoying really and makes it hard to figure out what I should be wearing for protection, aside from the obvious of dresses vs anything armor like.
