I'm a new player and Fallout 4 is my first Fallout game, so excuse me if the answer is obvious.

So far I've just been using weapons I find when I kill enemys but getting by with just them is getting harder and harder. I've found shops that sell better weapons and ammo, but I never have any caps and I don't know how to get them. I'm on the "Unlikely Valentine" mission. I've managed to get as far as the Vault, but I really can't go any further with what I have. My HP is really low (I don't have anything I can use to get my health up either) and any decent stuff I had has been used by now. I've gone back to Diamond City but again, I've no caps so I can't restock on anything, not even my HP.


Oh, and btw, I know about the infinte caps glitch that was found recently, but I don't want to use that. I want to play the game legitimately.

Where do you actually the caps though?

Explore the world and inspect every item, loot every corpse you come across (you don't have to take everything, just what you want to keep. Leave the rest). Eventually you'll find yourself with more caps than you know what to do with.

NOTE: You'll find alot more than caps this way, so be careful of what you take...and also be careful of what you sell, you may find a use for it sometime, so finding a place to store some of your loot from your travels will be essential.
