Anyone else like the voiced protagonist or is it just me?

I mean a lot of people say that they don't like the voice actor because it limits roleplayability, but I actually really like it. I mean come on, who doesn't love him shouting "[censored] KILL!" when you take a dose of psycho, or just blatantly cut someone off mid way through a emotional statement with "mhmm?" And let's not forget that he perfectly captures the feeling of blatant idiocy of trying to guess with something when the need arises. Especially this one:

Speaker: "What is your password?"

Protagonist: "Ummmm... 1,2,3,4,5...6"

The only issue I have with the dialogue system in general is the somewhat lack of and lackluster responses (ehehehe) you have to choose from. The actor is good, but the options they have in the game are not so much. If they had more options to choose from and more interesting topics I think it would actually be pretty great.

Also, once again, I think they really hit the nail on the head with this game. A few bugs and other issues here and there to be sure, but at the very least in comparison to all the other games this year, I really don't see anything that can really give this game a run for it's money for game of the year. (Don't start a flame war in the comments plz, this is just my personal opinion) Definitely another solid game to the series, and great game overall.

Good job again Bethesda, keep it up.

There is more than one voice actor for the protagonist.

I actually don't mind it either, not sure if I prefer it over no voice though.

The problem is that it seems to have had an impact on how Bethesda treat dialogue. The whole dialogue system is a disgrace.

I detest it on the reason for what was sacrificed for its implementation - The quality dialogue of previous Fallout titles.

-Yes, No, Sarcasm, Maybe/Why- is not quality RPG dialogue and is definitely not what the previous Fallout titles were known and loved for.

I like the female protagonists voice. I'm not sure how I feel about the males. I can see why folks would like to see a more in depth dialogue system however. I on the other hand don't care too much, I never really like talking to npc's in bethesda games. I like ease dropping, finding notes, reading stuff on the computers and the like. I almost always play a loaner type character though.

I utterly adore it, it brings so much more depth to both the character and his or her motivation.

There really is some brilliant, subtle VA work which perfectly complements your characters background, personality, educational level and prewar values.

It is still very limited and I miss the options in F1, F2, F3 and yes, even NV but I at least understand why they changed it.

That quest, no spoilers just wouldn't be the same with text only.

I like it but they should have got some info from Bioware. They need a good evil voice for evil stuff. Who can argue that Mass Effect did it perfect. Your good guy sounded like a good guy and your evil guy sounded EVIL!! 8)

Well I did say the system is bad, but the actual actor actually adds a lot of feeling to the game in my opinion.

I like the voiced protagonist and I hope Bethesda will do voiced protags for all future games.

Bethesda should have stuck to what they're good at and not tried to badly copy Bioware.

Is it just you?

Let's see...

The game sold about 20 Kajillion copies...

Yeah...pretty sure the odds are it's just you.

Oh I've loved the content with the voice.

Heres the thing, the UI could use some improvement, and expanding the options of what we can say could be improved. But I like where it's going.

If I had this kind of voice talent, and character interaction (the companions, and NPC's responding to each other and the world around them.) And the variety of options from New Vegas, it would be perfect for me.

If I could have just one option added to the roster, it would be low intelligence dialog. Something along the lines of fallout 2, where your character is actually too stupid to interact with most people, throw in some one liners- and I'd be happy.

No way they'll take it away from Fallout now, I guess we'll see about TES though. They can easily get away with adding voice and upsetting small groups of diehard fans, but the masses, no way they can go back now it would be a disaster.

I don't mind the voiced protagonist, it reminds me of the Bioware style of RPG.

I like the female protagonist's voice, not so much the male. Her delivery is so much better and I feel that she put more emotion into the lines. The male protagonist in contrast just sounds like he is bored a lot of the time, except for a few really good sarcastic responses.

Honestly, I preferred the silent protagonist of previous games because of the greater flexibility for role playing. The transition was bound to happen eventually though, so I'll have to get over it.
