Fallout 4 Script Extender

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 8:36 am

Only a small question: will it be possible to add an Script extender like for the Previous Fallout/Elder Scroll Games? I love mods and without it many mods out there would never be able to work. So my question is: Will it like in the previous games be possible to add an script extender to Fallout 4 too?

Nice news and i am happy that there will be a script extender in the first place. I was only afraid if maybe a script extender might get somehow blocked only that all mods works with the XBOX too.
But if the Script Extender works, i will buy Fallout 4 immeadetly. Modding is one of the biggest benefits of TES and Fallout and the Script Extender made so much possible ingame that wouldn't be possible otherwise.
So good luck and thanks for all your work behippo and everyone else from the script-extender-team!

We are very hopeful that we can continue our tradition with F4SE. BGS has been very supportive of our efforts in the past, and I see no indication that will not be the case in the future.

I do believe that there is essentially no hope of getting F4SE onto the consoles. But that should not preclude F4SE for the PC.

I can't see them changing things with regards to a script extender for the PC. Especially, considering that they've taken no steps previously and valve even assisted with getting them working with the Steam versions.

The only restriction I see with script extenders, is they and any mods that use them wouldn't be usable on the xbox.

I'm interested in working on another one, but until the game is out we can't be 100% sure that it will be possible. The most likely hurdles we'd need to deal with are DRM-related, so if they're using the same Steam wrapper then everything should be OK. CEG/Denuvo/other third-party DRM would be a problem that we couldn't work around without getting in to super sketchy legal territory.

Hopefully everything will work out.

Thanks for that reminder Ian. As I said - we intend to work on F4SE. But obviously plans change if significant DRM is involved. This is the same disclaimer we have had with each game before we have gotten our hands on it. Guess I got a bit carried away in the excitement.

Bethesda have been using Steam for a long time now. Why would they change that. What with the collaboration a month or so back abut paid mods they seem to be pretty nicely in bed together
