Can we get a backpack this time?

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 3:24 am

In fallout 3 I allways wondered about, where I put my many items on my character. On the PC a modder fixed this, with a backpack mod for your character. I really hope this is something that Bethesda have done in Fallout 4. So far I have not seen any sign of that though.

What are you guys thoughts on this?

Personally I never really gave it much thought even though I consciously was aware that I usually was packing 200 to 250 pounds of gear around.

I've seen a lot of screen shots for Fallout 4 & no sign of our hero (insert heroine if you wish) with a backpack on. I did see some concept art with this in mind, but it looks doubtful.

Hi! Welcome to the forums!

I wouldn't mind this at all, as long as it's an optional thing. This is one of the reasons I like to have companions along to help carry items. I'm sure with mods coming to all platforms there's a good chance someone will make one for this.

The backpack/s would have weight too :P

Makes you think though, where does all that clutter go?

Since we ~already~ carry more than could reasonably fit in a backpack, I just think of my PipBoy as a Folded Space pocket dimension anyway, miraculously pulling a Mini-Gun out of thin air... That said, I wouldn't object to having a backpack in game, either as a cosmetic item or even one that increases carrying capacity (I would not USE it, even if it did increase carrying capacity, though --- eet ees better to look goot than to feel goot, dahlink.)

As long as it's only cosmetic (well, or doesn't give a "feel forced to use it" amount of carry), so my character can still carry stuff without having to look like a hobo.

Of course, given that we've seen two perks that give +Carry Weight - Lone Wanderer and Strong Back - it looks like we can have a decent amount of loot without external assistance.

i know a lot hate that we dont have a backpack but at the same time for me is like "mehh" i mean if we want to be real having a huge backpack on our backs will make it impossible to fight or jump some area. Since is a game i really dont care

I liked the Backpack mods that added carry weight, but you sacrificed APs. It was, in my opinion, a good and reasonable trade-off.

If they add more weight capacity, maybe. I have a problem with picking up everything that isn't nailed down.......BUT I have played games with "containers", and if it turns into a mini game about where did I put that sugar bomb box...I'm out.
