A perk to ignore enemies armor?

Post » Mon Jun 14, 2010 7:52 am

One of the pages says you can get a perk that allows your blows to ignore the enemies armor.

That sounds really stupid and could potentially break the system of wearing armor in the first place.

I mean, once you get that perk, an enemy with say, leather armor will take as much damage as an enemy in steel armor etc.

That sounds very very arcade-like and not very RPG-like.

I think it will go through a skill check or a dice roll based on the perk You have a *chance* of ignoring their armor. I personally won't be choosing that perk :P

I don't think we have all the information to jump to conclusions of what perks will or won't do. There's a chance that that perk could pertain only to sneak attacks or as the above poster pointed out go through a skill check or use a dice roll system.

Until we get more info it's not likely that we'll get a clear view of how the perks work

Do perks have skill requirements? Like, if it's a high-level stealth perk that only works with light one-handed weapons, it could be for assassins that do less damage overall but can bypass an enemy's armor by hitting their weak point or something.

Well, the actual wording is that it allows the players Mace to ignore enemies armor. So I'm guessing that's more of a Warriors type weapon, not really a stealth character.

It's just hit me how overpowered that perk will actually be. Negating all the enemy's DR? There has to be - and must be - a catch to that.

High-level, powerful perks always had skill requirements in Fallout, so I don't see it being any different here.

Which is why armor-ignore% on mace weapons is usually an classic Pen&Paper/SRPG/MMORPG mechanic? Oblivion/FO3/FONV practically had stuff that did this.

Sigh....people are really grasping for straws on this forum to downplay the game, to the point where they are straight out WRONG.

It is very realistic If you ask me. If you were in the real world good at making out weak spots of the armor you could also aim for them and therefore penetrate through/between the armor!
