Next Obsidian game wishlist

The likelihood of Obsidian making another fallout game seems possible. I'd always find it fun to speculate on new games and would like to hear what you think(or hope) would in it

Me personally
I'd like to see some more tweaked elements of van buren used in such as the reservation and born ghouls in which a charismatic ghoul leader and an immoral ghoul scientist try to overcome ghoul sterility and destroy humanity or the nursery a nature preservation controlled by a human brain in a computer system that contains plants and animals that went extinct before, during and after the war.

To me it seems quite impossible. They have the Pillars of Eternity franchise, they have a publisher in Paradox that recently bought up a new IP they want Obsidian to work on. And well i am not sure Bethesda will give them another game. I am not against it, i just don't think it will ever happen.

Would love to see another Obsidian Fallout. My wishlist would actually be for Obsidian to be given more time to polish the game (they seemed to have a pretty tight schedule for NV iirc) and for their bonus to not be based on Metacritic because Metacritic wasn't all the relevant 5 years ago and is even less so now.

I don't think Obsidian will ever do another Fallout. They have their own RPG franchise they're working on and are a very different beast compared to 6 years ago.

Wait, Paradox has talked about getting Obsidian to work on the IP they just bought? That would be amazing!'

As for Fallout, I'm really curious to see what Obsidian would do with settlement building and a voiced protagonist. I'm almost afraid they'll go backwards and nix voiced protagonists, even though they could easily top Fallout 4 and New Vegas both if they tried... or maybe they'd try to please too many crowds at once and just make something awkward, I felt like that happened a lot in New Vegas.

I'd love to see a game set in the original location of the first two games, too, see what's happening deep in NCR territory now. (and to see locations in California fully realized in a 3D open world - there's a lot of potential for postwar Frisco, LA, and Hollywood that the first games never tapped into)

So it seems like something was bought by https://twitter.com/PdxInteractive and people want us to look into making a game? Hmmm..

That was from their Twitter about a month back. And this is what Paradox bought - https://www.paradoxplaza.com/news/Paradox-White-Wolf-Publishing/

I would like it to be back in California next time. Multiple background stories. Maybe you can choose to be a villager or a vaul dweller or something else in the beginning. More wasteland and bigger map. Not another big city even though the bostom map was amazing. Harder game please. I want to be able to join some raiders, or gunners this time. Pretty boring factions to join in f4. Include thirst in the game again. Sleep/hunger is not that important. Eating all the time for health and bonuses anyway. I rarely sleep in real world. Not that important. The only thing i am using purified water for now is making vegetable starch (adhesive). i actually like the food system in fallout 4 when playing on survival mode. Did not touch it on normal. More six and bad language in game please...

Not buying any west coast Obsidian Fallouts period.I didnt enjoy NV and the first 2 dont interest me so I would rather stay on east coast or go somewhere new and I didnt like the "better" story with a more boring world.

Short version, they will not be starting a new property in the the next few years.

Long version,

Pillers of Eternity, they are now committed to producing more content for that along with a sequel.

Armored Warfare, this is an MMO. Basically they are committed to support this until its shut down.

There is a rumor that there current publisher is wanting them to pick up the development of WOD that was abandoned a while ago By CCP

Then factor in that they received no royalties or bonuses because it scored marginally too low on metacritic.

Each to their own, but I will never understand the love for NV

I'd like to see another Obsidian FO game. Absolutely. Will it happen? Doubtful. I think the old-schoolers were thrown a bone with Obisidian during that whole fight for the rights of the franchise.

Having said that, I'd like to at least see another studio with an Obsidian like vision (under Bethesda supervision and publishing) do a FO game on the West Coast off cycle so we can have a FO game every 3 years or so and not have to wait so darn long.

Either way, I still would like for Bethesda to incorporate more of the goodness of the Obisidian vision into their games...then they would be just about perfect. I hate getting things I like in one version of the game only to have them pulled back in the next iteration. Good weapons, choice and variety, more explosives, ammunition types, reloading, badass DLC, and a budding weapons industry building guns from pre-war schematics, sort of immediately pop into my mind.

I would be more interested in a Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines sequel than a Fallout: New Vegas sequel.

They're not making another Fallout game, and I wouldn't want them to if they got stuck working with the FO4 engine (complete waste of their talents). While a World of Darkness title is possible, don't expect anything from the OWoD, VtM included. But honestly, I'm not expecting Obisidan to go back to their old mercenary ways; that only got them screwed over a bunch of times and gave them an undeserved reputation for making buggy games. They have Armored Warfare and their own in-house IP to work on with PoE. Making sequels for other people's franchises is likely behind them at this point.

All I ask is that the next Pillars of Eternity succeeds where the first game failed: by actually being interesting.

The Stick of Truth was an excellent game even if was crass and extremely disturbing. However, its franchise is crass and extremely disturbing so it fits perfectly. Therefore, Obsidian's mercenary policy works extremely well if they are giving license for a franchise they like and not get screwed over by unrealistic deadlines and other problems.

After playing a lot of Obsidian's early efforts, I strongly object to the idea that they had an undeserved reputation for buggy games. They had a very deserved reputation for buggy games. Look, the publisher didn't show up at Obsidian's office unannounced and demand the game go gold within the next three days. Obsidian had deadlines to meet and they decided to be overly ambitious, resulting in a buggy game. Could the publishers have given them more time? Yes. That being said, it was Obsidian's design process that resulted in missing deadlines and buggy games.

if obsidian were to make another fallout game, they'd best start now. so many things in new vegas was cut because they only had 18 months to work on it.

but yeah i'd like another world of darkness game as well.

I would fangirl so hard over another VtM game. Paradox, get on it!

I don't think Obsidian will ever develop another Fallout. I want them to make a sequel to Pillars of Eternity of course, but they said it might take a while. I don't mind if they develop something else in between. PoE fell a little short of my expectations, but it set a solid foundation and I believe the sequel has a chance to be a truly excellent game if Obsidian can learn from their experiences.

I guess "boring" really depends on what you like, eh? I personally found the world of NV a lot more interesting. I enjoyed the more plausible world and deeper places/factions/characters. I can understand some people liking the "theme park" design of Fallout 3 better (lots of little "attractions" everywhere, but all with little depth), but I personally found it tedious.

Pretty much how I felt about FO3. I didn't think it was a bad game, but it somehow didn't find the right balance of things to draw me in. So far, I'm finding FO4 to be much better, but I'm not very far into it yet.

I also doubt that we'll see another Obsidian-developed Fallout any time soon. It does seem like Paradox will try to bring them into some kind of World of Darkness production, so that could be fun. It would also be cool to see them do something along the lines of Arcanum.

Honestly I'd like to see Obsidian do a turn based RPG like Wasteland 2, Divinity Original Sin, or even like the original Fallout 1 and 2.

While i absolutely loved Pillars of eternity, I am not a fan of Real time with pause in general, at least not when you're dealing with big parties (it's more managable in games like Knights of the old republic or dragon age, then it is for a full party in Bauldurs gate or Pillars, in my personal opinion).

If they did get a run at fallout again, I'd actually like to see obsidian make an isometric turn based version, given a bigger timeline than they did for new vegas and set it wherever they wanted really, but with the budget backing from Bethesda.

Or something i'd also really like to see, if Obsidian was allowed to make an isometric turn based (just like the original fallouts) of an Elder scrolls 'side' game, set wherever and whenever they wanted.
