Life is Strange is my GOTY.

Fallout 4 underwhelmed somewhat, that's not to suggest it's a poor game, but after 7 years of hype a cautious iteration on a familiar formula doesn't warrant GOTY (IMO).

The Phantom Pain is mechanically brilliant, but thematically fragmented and bereft of the soul and melodrama that initially raised the series to success.

I wouldn't begrudge the Witcher 3 being the consensus GOTY, as I've said before I don't think there's an RPG as well rounded and exemplary in everything it does.One might prefer other RPGs for specific features, but very few RPGs have been praised for just about every facet of the experience contained within them.

I don't think I played many games made this year, so between King's Quest and Undertale I'll have to give it to Undertale mostly because it's a complete experience and King's Quest's second chapter is barely being released two weeks from now.

Undertale was one hell of an experience with its 4th-wall-destroying storytelling (to the point where it made me paranoid at times), delightful soundtrack and a world/atmosphere that reflects on your playstyle. Now I hope it just dies peacefully (he says, turning a blind eye to the mayhem it's already caused).

Have only played The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 this year. A lot of good games I still need to play like Bloodborne and Pillars of Eternity.

But out of the two I've played, I honestly don't know. I find Fallout 4 to be flawed in some areas whereas I don't have any issues with The Witcher 3, and yet, I still struggle to say I prefer TW3 over it. Maybe because I love the Fallout universe too much. Perhaps by the time I finish Fallout 4 I'll be able to decide. Although I'm already over 100 hours in and no where near completion. This may take a while.

Between Witcher 3 and FO4. If it was TES it would be different. With mods later with the CE release Fallout might just clinch it. Will also need to see the dlcs they both offer.
