No, Elder Scrolls Is Not In Fallout Universe

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 3:23 am

So, publications are going around saying that an Easter Egg regarding Nirnroot links Fallout with Elder Scrolls.

Gaming publications have apparently never heard of references or Easter Eggs. The Scrolls universe functions in a way that's rather incompatible with the Fallout universe. Going by this logic, one can say the Elder Scrolls universe is linked to Half Life since one of the Portal "space spheres" appeared in some DLC.

This is the same thing as the stupid easter egg crap in Gone Home a few years back saying "Oh Gone Home bridges a gap between Bioshock and System shock before small references" and it's the most annoying thing.

Basically.

Anyone with even a basic knowledge of both series would know that that is BS

UH, people SERIOUSLY claim this?

I guess ESO takes place in Middle Earth then, given all the Legolases and Aragorns in that game...

It's a little bit interesting to read and think about at times... Basically... Fan theory stuff about games made by (some) of the same developers, and trying to find patterns in similarities. And I'll give it that much. But is it something I'd take super seriously, and go out on a limb describing as fast, or even so much as telling other people these things are likely? No. Theories linking TES to Fallout can be a bit fun to think about and interesting, but I wouldn't be going out on a limb telling people that it's official fact proven by the Devs, as some might.

I said "Some of the same developers" and take that with a huge grain of salt, cause even though Bethesda made Fallout 3 and the Fallouts since FO3... They didn't invent Fallout itself in the first place... Hence... A huge hole in this entire theory, which makes me very very skeptical but meh *shrugs*. Doesn't really bother me.

I'd say it's more extremely extremely unlikely rather than call it stupid... But yes I agree just let people have their fun, it isn't hurting anyone.

It is indeed an Easter Egg; a joke that was written up as an article to get more clicks. At least it wasn't canis root tea ;)
