Dwarven power armor idea

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 10:06 am

Crazy thought and hopefully i didnt make a mistake in creating this a separate topic
After seeing the power armor in f4 is this a viable idea for the next tes. The dwarves already created centurions that run on dynamo cores
Could there be a similar rare armor . Improve it and add the crossbow that most dwarven creatures use. Make dynamo cores useful
I apologize if the idea is laughable i just love the animation of it in f4 and how the armor stays where u leave it. Could use the centurion model but smaller

You can already get completely overpowered in a TES game, by the time you get to mid-high levels. What do you need power armor for?

To be a master Architect. A Dwemer child of 8 can build a golem, but only a true master can BE one.

Yeah, I suppose the roleplay opportunity can be, uh, defended. :)

The Dwemer, near as far as we know, never really used anything along the lines of power armor. The one helm in Dragonborn could be the closest thing we got to piece of armor that is weaponized, but that's about it. As it stands, I'm going to say no.

I'd rather see Airships again, personally.

Beyond the likely fictional nature of the story, both of those statements are directly refuted by the tale in question.

The point wasn't that it was a good idea, just that there IS a precedence for it.

While the player character attaining a suit of mechanically augmented dwarven armor might be pushing it, I see no reason an interesting concept like the Nchmarthurnidamz couldn't be implemented in future games. Say for example, the militaristic Rourken clan possessing an army of such warriors. When the disappearance of the Dwemer occurred, the Rourken clan vanished, leaving their great brass army behind. However, some Dunedweller claim that the restless spectres of the Rourken clan still roam the halls of the City of the Hammer, inhabiting the empty suits of armor, the eternal guardians of Volenfell.

Presumably. Prosthetic "limbs" is something I can see, that's he's a bit out there. Though, Yarg is more or less riding on what basically seems to be a large Dwemer spider with a seat on it, so not quite the same thing.

Well, technically they did. Just not in the way everyone was hoping. Or wanted.

Well ,first I wanted to say he was wearing full body amror not isn't, sorry.

Second no the fact that the semifictional book writes a child can build a golem doesn't mean it was true, nor was the armor powered.

Truth or fiction isn't the point. The fact that there is already a referance, in the lore, about something resembling Power Armour is, thus establishing more of a precedent than we get with just about anything else.

I highly doubt anything will ever come of it, and I don't think anything's really well served by putting power armour (or, reallly, relying on the Dwemer ar a crutch for everything) in, but it's already more than we get for most things.

That would be cool just don't make it as powerful as say actual power armor just make it a lot stronger version of the dwarven armor but no where near as good as deadric or dragon bone. Say make it a quest for the legion so they can try and study and reproduce it or just take it for your self. Not sure how to actually implement it is tho.

Let Fallout keep its power armour, please. This is Elder Scrolls.

I'd be up for something similar, yet significantly different, to power armor. Perhaps a large, clunky golem-like thing that you can go inside. Even then, I'd prefer for it to be a one-of-a-kind thing. I'd also be up for the prosthetic thing mentioned. Would be cool to even have a prosthetic limb's abilities tied into an engineering skill of sorts. Having limb damage/compromising in the game could be a nice dynamic, with both magical and non-magical (dwarven prosthetics) means of "fixing" limbs.

EDIT: I'd really love to see dwarven airships or something like a dwarven battlespire. Perhaps even a hovering dwarven ruin one can turn into a home. I think it would be possible in TES VI, and I really hope they'd include them in a Hammerfell game. Since it's the last place (to my knowledge) left with dwarven ruins, I'd definitely like for the dwemer tech to get a send-off deserving of it.

I love this idea. I actually think it works better for TES than it does for Fallout.

Probably speaking about the Halls of the Collosus near Rimmen. Which isn't Dwemer, as far as I know, but is where Tiber Septim tested out the Numidium.

Its where the Numidium was assembled at the very least. Me thinks its test run was effectively the same as Liberty Primes, I.E making a B-line to its intended target and smashing it to itty bitty pieces.
