Old modders never say goodbye they just... get their threads locked by Rohugh
Its that time of year when I start getting nostalgic - maybe because US friends are heading off to see family for Thanksgiving or the year is winding down and I start reflecting on what I've seen in modding this year
Previously I've done some lists of what mods were released, but I do believe that baton has been and truly handed over to Darkelfguy who not only names the mods but can also show them via his many, varied and excellent videos as you can see here and there
Lately I've been wondering about modding and modders. This forum is still active and in fact out of Oblivion and Skyrim modding often has more visitors here and yet the threads here are a lot quieter than I recall. Perhaps the higher number of visitors are those who like to keep an eye for nostalgic reasons on Morrowind, I know I find it hard not to check in at least once a day.
Modding for Morrowind isn't dying off, but the commenting has, maybe that's just the nature of the internet now, I never thought I'd miss Wolli posting on almost every single topic.
So anyway I thought I'd start this topic of Old modders never say goodbye... because its against forum rules... though I hope that is relaxed just prior to the shift to bethesda.net whenever it is that site kicks off its community hub
There are many modders who have moved on from here, 1000's even, some I've seen go on to Oblivion and Skyrim and those other games that distract Todd from his core business.
Are there any modders you have followed from Morrowind through other games? Any who influenced you?
Perhaps you can come up with some better catchphrases than me for the phrase Old modders never say goodbye they just...
...move on to the next game
...burn out
...fall out more
Thanks to all those who supported this forum this year, and to all those who shared comments, mods, dreams, angst and laughs - and to all you old modders out there - peace.
