Remake of oblivion same game just updated

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 5:18 pm

So before I go any where with this thread is for those who would want an updated oblivion so if your just gonna say " no just no" or "not gonna happen" or any thing of the like please back out now. I don't want any negative comments about how its never gonna happen.

Any ways I got this idea from another thread I just read about the same topic. I'd post a link but my phone is stupid and won't let me for some reason.

The thread pretty much talked about taking oblivion as if it were just a demo for what TES IV could/should have been.

So I was thinking you take what we already have put it in the new engion and update every thing. For instance take the battle of Bruma. What we got was spending hours closing oblivion gates to get all the towns to send help for Bruma then you get back expecting to have some epic ass battle only to find out that there's like 10 people Like wtf man. But with it being updated for new consols we might get that epic lord of the rings style last stand kind of battle I was emagining the first time I did that quest.

Keep all the main quest actors like Sean bean Patrick Stewart and all the other famous actors. Then just add in a way more voice actors like way more than even skyrim has. Rewright the dialogue but keep the same story and concept just execut it better.

For the mages guild quest line they could completely redo Manimarco and actually make him a boss worth the name. Cause for real I kill him in like 1 - 2 hits every time. And while there at it redo all of the mages guild quest. Make it more of a challenge to get to the Arcane University instead of one quest from each guild hall. Make each guild hall a quest line of its own or actually make them schools that train you in that halls specialization. Also while on that note bring back morrowinds skills have to be at certain levels in order to advance to the next rank. Which would make each guild hall being an actual school viable. Then and only then when you make it to the AU would you start the Mages guild quest line of course after you've made up in the ranks forst.

The schools would be some thing like how the college of winter hold starts off were your actually being taught how to do and use spells and going on field trips to ruins to study them and find artifacts. Non of that one lesson then field trip then oh I guess your the arch mage now bs.

Now cities need to be actual cities so they would have to be way bigger especially the IC.

Any way those are some of my ideas for a remake let me know what you would want or how you would changes things if you had it your way.

And one more time I know this will never happen its just wishful thinking on my part and those that are like minded so please no negative comments on how it won't or never will happen please.

Oh, I have a long, long list of things I wish Oblivion had been. But, honestly, I don't see the point. What would be gained?

Hey, it was pre-Thanksgiving, and I was hungry! :liplick:

No negative comments from me, I promise. Just "constructive criticism".

Me personally, I played the vanilla game for 5+ years on PS3 and Xbox, and was happy with Oblivion just the way it is, except for two things: lack of peaceful animals in the wilderness, and also the way the game levels upwards, particularly into the teens. I did not like the way the entire world around us changes overnight just because our character has gained a level. It killed imm ... It killed IMMM ... *sigh* You know ... the "I" word. It killed the "I" word for me. I can't say that word.

You have to remember that Oblivion was coded back in the mid-2000s, back then, to have 10 people getting commanded around by the CPU at once was cutting-edge technology. I'm not sure where you're going with this thread ... whether you think Bethesda should drop whatever they're doing or not. If so, my answer is the same. NO. I don't a rehash, a reboot, or whatever. Let Beth move on, please.

Get the game for PC, get some mods, learn the Construction Set, it's really awesome once you have this sort of power. :user: But keep Beth out of it. Thank you.

I was never asking beth to remake it I was basically asking you what you think it should have been as if it were being made now instead of 2006. I guess I should have worded things better.

So pretty much what I wanna know is what would you want to change about the original as if it were being made now. It don't even have to be realistic just more so what you think is the ideal oblivion.

Fair enough. I apologize. I've been incredibly snarky lately, sorry about that. It has to do with real-life stuff that's filtering through online.

Like I said above, I would add more passive wildlife, to make the wilderness feel like it's actually vibrant, yet not just filled with hostiles. And I would also make it so that going up one level doesn't change the entire [censored] world around my character. Maybe some bandits wear glass, but not every single one. Most would still be wearing fur & leather. Some lower-leveled animals also wouldn't just disappear just because my character has gone up a level, replaced by minotaurs & higher-level enemies. I dunno ... when I first played vanilla Oblivion back in 2008, these were the things which bugged me so much, I quit the game one day for 4 months.

That's one of the reasons I enjoyed vanilla Skyrim so much; both of these "issues" had been addressed.

Yeah always thought that was stupid that some creatures would just disappear once you hit a certain level.

Now for what I think would be awesome but completely unrealistic. I wish the map was like daggerfall just some thing huge like when the count in leyawin tells you the cabin for the knights of the white stallion is a 6 hour walk it should be a 6 hour walk in real life. But that's probably just me tho
