so basically I want to play the old Fallout games during the Christmas time, when I'm not home and don't have a great PC at my parents's place to play F4

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but I think there are the most people who played those games in here

and it's pretty obvious that Fallout 1 comes before Fallout 2, but what is that Tactics game?

it was released years after Fallout 2 and it's the first time I hear about it

is it good? do I need it?

and does it have a story like the first two games or is it more of a 'combat' addon to the first two games?

It's not a bad game. Combat is pretty fun and quit tactical. Real time, pause based (similar to 7.62 High Caliber or late UFO games). Only downside is that missions are preset so story is more or less linear.

Word of warning, it's not and RPG game, rather squad based tactical one with some RPG elements. Set in Fallout universe and based on Brotherhood of Steel.
