Mystery Meat quest bug

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 12:02 am

Hello, just registerd after spending almoust an hour in the cellar of Longneck Lukowskis cannery until I realised that the quest "Mystery Meat" is bugged for me.

The option to open the cellar door is not available on the terminal, so I end up being stuck in the cellar and having to load an older save.

I am not the only one who seems to have this problem and someone uploaded a video showing the bug to youtube where you can find it by it`s title: Mystery Meat - Fallout 4 (Bug?)

Please tell me how I can fix this or let me know if there are console commands with which I can open the door. I tried opening the door with the "unlock" console command but it didnt work.

I should probably also note that I have some mods installed using the nexus mod manager, if this is what might cause the problems I will post a list of the installed mods.

Thank you for your help in advance.

This hasn't happened to me, so I don't know if this'll work, but here goes:

Bring up console, click on the terminal, type in reset. Maybe that'll reset the terminals scripts?

Not a console command expert here, I fully admit this. I have yet to run into any game-blockers, so I haven't really had to learn the commands yet.

"reset" doesnt exist as a command, at least thats what it says when I type this in.

OK, my apologies. I remembered having to use reset command in Skyrim to fix a bugged entity to progress further in a quest, my hopes here were that it was brought into or work similar in FO4. Best of luck.

mhmmmmm

I remember using a console command to simply make a bugged gate disapear in Skyrim. Do you know what the console commad for completly removing an object in fallout 4 is?

I haven't done that quest yet, but if you can use console commands, from within the console, click on the door in question and type this:

lock 25

Exit the console, and try to pick the door if possibe

or, after clicking on the door in the console type:

unlock

and see if you can simply open the door

Or, you can click on the door in the console and type:

setopenstate 2

and see if the door opens for you.

Note that using console commands to bypass scripted encounters - like using a terminal to open a door - can cause the quest to break even more. A better solution would be to use the quest setstage command, but without the CK and knowledge of the quest stages, I can't offer any help in that regard yet.

You may also try clicking on the terminal in the console and typing:

lock 0

That will reset the terminal to its default lock status, though it most likely won't reset any scripts.

Maybe one of these will work... :brokencomputer:

Oh, and this kind of thing belongs in hints and spoilers.

Unfortunatly none of your options worked, I tried them all.

It seems the quest is broken for some players and that this needs to be patched.

Thanks for informing me on what the poper section for such threads is.

I'm sorry to hear that. But take solace in the knowledge that once the CK is released, it will become very easy to fix issues like this.

I will. Thank you.

Should have waited a few months before buying it I guess.

Oh... Don't you have a save from before you started this quest, or at least before you encountered the terminal?

Also, did you happen to install the Settlement Supplies Expanded mod, by chance?

Yeah. That mod breaks all terminal locked doors apparently. Not good.
