Sorry bud, can't blame Consoles here considering Sony co-Invented Blu Ray, PS4 has a blu-Ray player, PS3 had one as well... Too add - I'm pretty sure Xbox One has a blu-Ray drive as well, where-as the 360 was DVD.

Oh I wasn't defending the reason why they (e.g. big game companies) distribute their games as they do. It is just usually that explanation they give.

I'm aware that games get cracked no matter what. It sux for the consumer, that all of us is treated as criminals initally, when piracy could be circumvented in other more creative ways.

Not trying to blame anyone. I was thinking you couldn't set a standard of 6 DVDs with a console, though I wasn't sure if you could install a game, like on a PC, with multiple disk on a hard rive. But whatever.

Aw :( Happy birthday regardless :) I didn't know this before, so you need to download half of the game even if you bought the physical copy? I heard of activation and registering a key, but this is new to me. I did something with "preload (?)" on Steam or something and I got to play it once it was out. But we have fiber connections I think, I forgot how fast.
