V.A.T.S. Breakdown | How Many Shots I Got.

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2015 10:06 pm

I decided to test how mods effect the AP use of weapons in V.A.T.S.
I used a pipe pistol for this.
I started with standard everything, and tested each component one at a time.
As a base-line (for me) i got about 4 and a quarter shots in.
RECEIVER:
Light Frame: 6 and 1/4 shots
Heavy Frame: 3 and 1/5 shots
Calibrated: 4 and 1/4 shots
Hardened: 4 and 1/4 shots
Automatic: 3 and 1/4 shots
Armor Peircing Automatic: 3 and 1/4 shots
Hair Trigger: 5 shots
Powerful: 4 and 1/4 shots
Hardened Automatic: 3 and 1/5 shots
Rapid Automatic: 3 and 1/5 shots
Calibrated Powerful: 4 and 1/4 shots
Hardened Peircing Auto: 3 shots
Powerful Automatic: 3 and 1/5 shots
.45 Receiver: 5 shots
BARREL:
(I Used short barrel as the default dispite stub barrel being the top-most mod)
Stub: 4 and 4/5 shots
Short Light: 4 and 4/5 shots
Long: 3 and 1/2 shots
Long Light: 4 shots
Short Ported: 4 and 1/4 shots
Long Ported: 3 and 1/3 shots
Long Finned: 3 and 1/3 shots
GRIP/STOCK:
(I used standard 'grip as the default not the standard stock)
Comfort Grip: 4 and 1/4 shots
Standard Stock: 3 and 1/10 shots
Sharpshooter's Grip: 4 and 4/5 shots
Marksman's Stock: 3 and 1/10 shots
Recoil Compensating Stock: 3 and 1/10 shots
MAGAZINE:
Large: 4 shots
Quick Eject: 4 and 4/5 shots
Drum: 4 shots
Large Quick Eject: 3 and 1/10 shots
Quick Eject Drum: 4 and 1/4 shots
SIGHTS/SCOPES:
Glow Sight: 5 shots
Short Scope: 3 and 1/10 shots
Reflex Sight: 5 and 2/5 shots
Glow Reflex Sight: 5 and 2/5 shots
Medium Scope: 3 shots
Long Scope: 2 and 4/5 shots
Short Night Vision Scope: 3 and 1/10 shots
Medium Night Vision Scope: 3 shots
Long Night Vision Scope: 2 and 9/10 shots
Short Recon Scope: 3 and 1/10 shots
Long Recon Scope: 2 and 9/10 shots
MUZZLE:
Small Bayonet: 4 and 1/4 shots
Large Bayonet: 4 and 1/4 shots
Compensator: 4 and 1/4 shots
Muzzle Brake: 4 and 1/4 shots
Suppressor: 4 and 1/4 shots
It would appear that muzzles (atlests in the case of pipe pistols) does not effect how many shot you can have in V.A.T.S
Notes:
All of my fraction amounts are my best judgement not mathematically calculated
I DO have perks enabled and am not sure if they effect my test
I am also level 27 incase that also effects it
I also DO relize that there is a gap between the shot uses and have calculated accordingly
Best Mods For Pipe Pistols For V.A.T.S Uses:
Light Fram Receiver
Stub Barrel
Sharpshooter's Grip
Quick Eject Mag
Glow Reflex Sight
Muzzle Brake (doesn't effect V.A.T.S but improves accuracy)
I Got A Massive: 13. It holds 12 bullets in the chamber and if i click for the 13th shot, it displays 2 more red dashes in the AP bar, But it reloads and only shoots the 13th bullet.

The two dashes are correct - one dash represents the AP cost for reloading, the other represents the AP cost of that last shot.

It seems like it would be really helpful to display the AP cost for weapons among the other weapon stats. How much AP does your character have?
