Every time i try to enter the strip, after the loading screen, my game freezes with a black screen with the sounds still playing and i have to turn off my ps3 and turn it back on to play. is there a glitch that is not allowing me to enter? i'm wondering if it will be fixed with an update or not.

Yes, this is one of the more egregious glitches encountered usually after the player kills McCafferty in the strip. We all hope its fixed in the coming patches, but until then, you can make The Strip load correctly by equipping the Old Cowboy Hat, which can be purchased from the shop at the Crimson Caravan.

It started doing that when I finished the Boomer quests. I'm effed.

My problem exactly. McCafferty dead and now it won't load the Strip, even though I've completed many quests since. I'll try the Cowboy hat trick next. I will not restart a 35 hour save in attempt to get past. Cowboy hat here I come.

I Used the monorail to get into the strip seen as the entrance to the strip kept freezing now Im stuck in lucky 38 casino every time I try to exit i get blank screen freeze wtf, im on lv 24......HELP!

UPDATE the cowboy hat does work my problem was i bought the Desperado cowboy hat , not the Old cowboy hat....cheers for the work around, your a genius!!

I started avoiding the strip since it froze the game constantly even after I got in. Went and did other quests, which was fine for a while, then constant crashes, probably 7-8 a night. Finally the drive died. No joke, never a problem, but 2 weeks of New Vegas killed my blu-ray drive. New one on order, but I won't play NV again until a significant patch fixes what sadly mars an otherwise great game.
