Do Dates have any significance in game, or are they just used to track how many days have passed?

I just noticed that it is 6 am Dec. 31st for me. Going to pay special attention as midnight comes around in game when I get back on tonight.

I might even shoot a few Flares in the air to celebrate.

DC celebrates Halloween and Christmas

A year has passed in my game and I don't think I've seen any other holidays

In diamond city, on Xmas, there are Xmas lights all over the place. Just saw it happen.

Dang it! I have not traveled that far South yet! Going to have to run down to Diamond City just so I can see what happens at midnight for the New Year in Diamond City.

Yeah, on Halloween Diamond City celebrates by putting up decorations and banners, and putting out plastic pumpkins and orange gourds. Some businesses have Trick-or-Treat signs with candy filled pumpkins, and some NPCs like guards and others have special comments about the holiday. One of the guards told me, "It's Halloween, and here I am working. Guess the trick's on me."

Does this really happen??? Oh my god that is so [censored] cool. So no other holdiays besides those? Independence Day maybe? That's the only one I can really think of that would make sense.

As much as I've seen, no.

But I'm not in DC like every game day or anything so I can't confirm. I might have been there on July 4th, but idk
