Just thought of something concerning power armor.

We have armor. We have power armor. Do the two stack in terms of stats? I somehow doubt it but it would be neat if it did.

It would make more sense if the normal armor only worked when the power armor broke.

no they dont stack. I checked because i hate the look of regular armor, and mainly role PA. When in PA, only the PA damage resistance matters. Doesnt matter if you got heavy combat armor on, or are naked. I love the look of the yellow trench coat, so that is what i wear.

Power Armor negates EVERYTHING regarding normal armors & clothing.
Including "deep pockets", and stat boneses.

I was wondering this too, I was in my PA one time and went to my inventory and accidentally unequipped one of my regular pieces of armor and it wouldn't let me re-equip it until a stepped out of the PA.

I also just thought of something concerning PA. Why is it when you wear PA without the helmet you still get the PA style HUD? My guys going with the vault style blue without the helmet(space marines FTW)and I noticed this earlier.

They don't stack which is good because when I sell my Jet, gear and other vendor trash, I wear my +5 Charisma gear and store my regular legendary gear which weighs around 50 pounds. So that's an extra 50 pounds of corn, purified water I can make caps off.

Stat boneses from Hats & Glasses still apply.
But, not any from clothing (body), armor (body), nor outfits (body).

To make sure I just tested it again.

I will allow everyone else to do there own tests to verify, or disprove.

When I wear my full charismatic clothing set, I get the same prices in power armor as out of power armor. In my experience, special stat boosts from any normal armor or cloths still applies.

Better question. Why is it when the helmet is broke that I don't take rad damage in the glowing sea?

Because each piece of armor gives rad resist, not just the helmet

Gameplay > realism

You get the HUD because you are still in power armor.

Being able to see all of the relevant information is useful. Its not like your character can "see" your HUD anyways.

I'd rather not get the hud, it annoys me and I could do without the helmet. I rarely do anything without power armor now maybe I'm carrying stuff I don't need. I do like the generals outfit or kellogs or some other random things I could wear to feel fashionable.

But I'm not taking ANY rads at all when the helmet's broke.

And that logic only applies when it doesn't get silly. This is silly. Companions don't take rad damage either, power armor or no.

Honestly, what more can I say that it's immersive breaking? People play RPG games for immersion, right?

Armor is what an attack has to penetrate to get at the wearer's juicy center. What stands to reason is that the wearer's Armor rating will be EACH layer of armor, added together. If the wearer is still wearing a set of armor inside a suit of PA, the two layers should stack.

this.

but don't worry, power armor stats are so high that you don't really need to worry about it stacking.
