Can't sleep in my wife's bed....

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 2:59 am

Ok so Piper is my wife but I can't sleep in her bed at her house, is it a bug or what? Or may be an oversight on Bethesda's part?

She is with me but her bed appears 'red' and every time i try to sleep on it, it tells me its owned by someone else......doesn't make sense :(

Is this the case with other companions as well, that you can't stay at their house even if your relationship is at maximum affinity?

I think at about 75% affinity you should be able to use their place to stay or rest for a while........after all this is a RPG.....

Thanks...

The Lover's Embrace bonus only works if you get in the bed first. If Piper is in bed first, then it is occupied and unavailable for you to use it.

There is no conventional marriage in this game AFAIK. Saw a man getting married to a Miss Nanny. As far as the player goes, the only relationship is getting to maximum relationship with various companions and using the flirt and romance dialog options when they become available to potentially create a harem.

The bed is empty, she is standing next to me...............bed is unavailable to use, keeps telling me it belongs to someone else.

Doesn't make sense since piper already told me that she belongs to me and there is no place she'd rather be except with me all the time. Nat should be treating me as her brother-in-law but instead she acts like I am just another stranger wasteland, it completely breaks the atmosphere.

I meant wife as in my female mate, who I passionately care about and who's told many times that her heart and soul is mine........:D

I don't know if you can have conventional wedding ceremony in this game or not.....

You don't have to sleep in that bed, it's probably tagged as owned. But literally any available bed, you two can sleep in it and get the Lover's Embrace bonus. Every time I find a bed in some Raider den I just sleep for an hour to get the Lover's Embrace bonus... I like to think that it was just an hour-long catnap/cuddle session.

If you feel you absolutely must sleep in that bed: console, select bed, setownership.

I know that i can sleep in any unowned bed.......... but I am only saying that it doesn't make sense that I can't sleep in the bed of the woman, who has already pledged herself to me. I can't stay over her house and her sister treats me like a stranger, like she doesn't know me at all, she hawks at me to buy her newspaper, every time I pass her in the streets like she would ANY wastelander........ This completely breaks the atmosphere of the game, it feels very 'unRPG' like.

Shouldn't the NPCs and game world react to the relationship between you and your companions? I believe it should.

I think at about 75% relationship affinity we should be able to use a companion's general belonging like their bed or coffee cups and stuff............... and the NPCs or the game world items associated with that particular companion should change their behaviour towards the protagonist based on the kind of relationship he/she has with that particular companion ......it use to happen back in Fallout 2, don't know why it doesn't happen in Fallout 4........

I know that type of stuff happens with some factions, join them and rank up enough, and all their owned stuff is free for you to grab, however beds seem to be the most private of private property (unless it's public) that not even your BFF with benifits will let you in. Doesn't make much sense but... but... I think I'm agreeing with the OP here...

Well, seeing as I've build like 4 settlements to be my personal homes during the "seasons." this really doesn't effect me that much. I haven't gotten married yet.... which svcks because it would help if there was a way to see how much they liked you (a slider or something).

But I can see youre point from an immersion standpoint and just seems like some oversight by Bethesda.

Piper's house is owned by her so you cannot sleep in it or take anything from it (she doesn't want her sister to hear your love sounds and she doesn't want you to take her stuff)
