Hopefully someone can help.
I've installed, re-installed and so-on; Oblivion on my computer many times so I'm 100% it's not an issue there.
But I've just re-installed, and downloaded DarkUi Darn'd, and the DarkUi video replacers and such through OBMM, and when I booted it, and click "New Game" then it pops up normally, and I get
"Start New Game?
Yes
No"
But when I click Yes, it goes back to the main screen like nothing happened.
Un-activated DarkUi, still nothing.
Downloaded a vanilla savegame too and tried to boot it, that STARTED to work, it loaded but then it CTD'd.
Any help?

When you uninstalled, did you delete the install folder, and also the folder in my games? The uninstaller does NOT clean up after itself very well......

Yeah I did.
There wasn't a Bethesda Softworks folder OR a My Games folder left in the whole computer previous to this install.

did you use the omod installer for darn? If so, deactivate it, and rename the oblivion.ini in your My Games\Oblivion folder. Try the game again.

What was I supposed to re-name it to??
And still wasn't working, here's what I did.
I de-activated Darn, ran Oblivion, still wasn't working.
Replaced the .ini in the My Games folder with the _default from the main Oblivion folder, still not working.
Basically tried every variation of that possible with replacing, re-activating Darn and trying to play again, never crashed any of the times.
But it still wouldn't accept the fact that I wanted to start a new game, and didn't like the vanilla savegame.
Although that could just be an incompatibility issue cause I have the latest patch, but still.

Edit:
Well, just uninstalled Oblivion, re-installed, and put all my mods back, NONE of them were installs, all drag-and-drop, and I used NO interface or video replacement mods whatsoever just to be doubly-sure that it wasn't that.
Gave it the 1.2 patch, and got OBSE and OBMM again.
Booted it up, still no response.

2ND EDIT:
Just found the problem -.-
Apparently in my earlier haste (before I posted this) to deactivate a mod that was crashing the game, I re-enabled a 2nd custom race fix.
And apparently that stops me from making a new game, ahaha.
