I got some trouble with Preston Garvey.

Since i finished the main storyline, he refuses to talk to me. Instead, he just repeats the same dialogue, accusing me for choices i made when dealing with the Institute. I still can receive, accept, do, finish and hand in Minutemen quests (defend xy, find captured settler, etc...) and i am able to send him to any settlement, but i can′t open a trade window or even ask him to join me as a companion.

I am aware of the fact, that there is a known bug, which makes Preston unavailable as a companion if you trigger a specific combination of quests after liberating the castle (which i fear happened to me), but i made use of the recommend "workaround" (= console command), but it didn′t work. Could it be, that Preston just hates me so much for joining the BoS and destroying the Institute, that he just refuses to talk to me by purpose?

Anyway, since i tried everything i could think off (console commands, tinkering whith weapons while he was nearby, to improve his affection), i have no clue what else i could try.

Does anybody have a hint, or maybe i console command that might help?

The game tells you that your actions will affect how potential companions interact with you. Sounds like you have proved their system is working.

I′ve been taking this in consideration. However, since the "affection" system is very vague, i cannot tell, how much Preston likes, dislikes or hate me. I know it′s said to be possible to earn that much negative reputation with a companion that he/she will refuse any interaction. However, if they are able to completly block you, how will you be able to gain any positive reputation with them?

I know Preston was once willing to join me (i got the choice once), but since the respective quest which is considered to be bugged, nothing is working with him anymore...
