Having multiple problems with this new version

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 7:52 pm

With NO manual in the $90 game box I'm having trouble adapting to game play changes deviating form Fallout 3 & Vegas :(

Only the level up attributes are selectable even after maxing out the key attribute for a perk stream :(

How do I repair power armour, the original in-game set is falling apart when you get it. Another in a jail bared crate on a flatbed train car isn't open able, and Scavenger armour found is in little better condition :(

Building some items (even with all the ingredients and NO perks skill extras required) sometimes wont high-light a build selector button key :(

As I find more problems this list may grow, solely because it lakes a printed or disk basis help manual with the $90 game :(

Sounds like you need The Vault Dwellers Survival Guide...

bring your power armor to a station and go into craft I believe, and you should be able to repair pieces..takes steel I think or maybe aluminum, I forget..

Scroll down.

Go to Sanctuary, look for the yellow thing that looks like a crane near the workbench.

Hack the terminal (or door)

Yes, you unmount from the power armor near a Power Armor Workbench, then activate the workbench to modify the suit. Bottom line will tell you the key to repair individual items (T on pc). Having the gear on you should also work IIRC.

It's also worth reminding you there is a "help" menu when you go into the main menu *in game* (ESC on PC). It's not a manual but can still be helpful.

For everything else, eeeh.. navigating the UI is clunky and not intuitive. You'll eventually find your way around. On PC randomly press alt / ctrl, e, r, tab, wasd and arrow keys in every menu to find what they do :P Sometimes the bottom line will tell you what does what. Often, you'll have to try to find out (I'm looking at you E to read more on terminal!!!).

I'm seeing U-tubes where guys may have 3 points on an attribute and yet perks lower than the top level are lit up. I show no options to select perks even with all slots filled and after trying multiple things! I would prefer to get the gob done without cheats! That just ruins it for me :(

Most importantly NO help File on install disk or basics pamphlet is just cruel of Bethesda. I have bought Manuals for games before, but that was for post basics info not just to get started! A basics guide should get you covered on interface dilemmas or past clunky controls, not be an excuse to scalp you for and additional up-front $$$ :(

There's an in-game help menu. I never looked at it, so I don't know how detailed it is, but it's there.

Might be a silly question, but...

...have you gained a level, so you have a perk point to spend? Or are you just looking at the perk chart?

I couldn't have maxed out a few attributes without levelling up! & I assumed that after doing that then at least the down-stream perks off them would be available, but they wouldn't activate even then :( Then in desperation I searched U-tubes and saw ppl had activated perks with only a few of the up-stream 1s done. :( :( :(

So you used your perk points to level your SPECIAL up. You use the same currency to pick and choose perks

when I couldn't get perks to activate I had no option but to level up the attributes instead. Oh and when I hovered the mouse over the perks they did show how many attribute pints were required, the just wouldn't select the spare lv points I had backed up ready to use

Thnx all, the repair worked fine and the skill queue now also works though I'm not sure if it was my technical fault or just the computer?
