Let's talk about favorite regional or local foods.

I take quite a few road trips every year, all over the US. I'm always amazed by the diversity in foods, depending on what part of the country you travel to. Given this forum is fairly international, I was wondering about some of the local favorites where you guys and gals are from.

Me personally, I love a Horseshoe Sandwich. You start with a piece of bread. Then comes the meat, usually a hamburger patty, but chicken strips or a breaded pork tenderloin are options, on top of the bread. Then cover this with a pile of french fries, followed by cheese sauce. Some places offer chili, bacon, and/or onions on top of all of that.

The result is a pile of heart attack goodness! Seriously, Google it. Problem is, I can never find anything like it outside of Central Illinois.
