they only have a couple of minor side quests and you cant get there power armor from them unless you steal or buy it, though it should be fairly easy to steal a set and them not know bout , that's what i have done.
Woulda been cool to be able to expand their settlement somewhat and any recruits instead of being settlers would be automatic atom cats, just in that area.Or maybe more quests with them, they seem under utilized.
They're my favorite faction, but sadly only have those two small quests. Hopefully DLC, or failing that, some good mods, expand the faction a bit. It feels like a lot more was planned with the Atom Cats. There is actually a third very small quest you can get from a wandering Atom Cats guy if you haven't met the Atom Cats yet. The quest is basically 'visit the Atom Cats', acting as a means to show you where they are. Considering all the characters there, their crazy armor, and how built up the place is, it seems like the Atom Cats were originally planned as a faction you'd spend some more time with. Presumably, plans got cut to release the game on time. That does give some prospect of a DLC expanding them though!
In the same boat, 'Combat Zone' and the racetrack area seem like they got cut short as well.
Um, no. The Atom Cats are not a kind of faction that would ever compete in this war. Maybe more quests were planned, but it would definitely not be anything Faction Level. At best, they could be what Great Kans, Boomers, Omertas, etc. are in New Vegas: a minor faction that might be persuaded to support a higher level faction (and if FO4 lacks one thing in comparison to NV, it is there minor factions that can be collected as allies).
I didn't mean to imply they'd join up in a war... but rather just have a more involved quest chain. They are a faction already. Not every faction has be a major commonwealth power. It seems like an awful lot of work went into building an Atom Cats brand and group of characters... for just a couple small quests. It really seems like the faction was meant to do more. I agree though, they certainly don't have the size and presence to go up against any of the major factions.
At best, I'd think they could join up with the Minutemen who have a similar idealogy and become a new settlement while offering a few quest chains and maybe a new follower. A couple Atom Cats could show up in a climatic battle later as support or something.
