This one was FUN!

Well I am L42 and only recently visited Diamond City and Railroad, so I was doing only Minuteman and side quests till recently. I was running to an unknown site and I see a Vertibird flying and approaching a house. I realised they were flying in circles around that house and so I go into sneak mode and just watched. At his point the Virtibird seems to drop something, a bomb maybe (of they do that at all), but then he circles again and flies lower, and then BANG: the Vertibird explodes into flames just by the house! There was a bunch of Supermutants in the house but none had heavy weapons, so I really think it was a self-inflicted blast. No corpses btw, except for the Supermutants I then nailed. Weird? :-)

Most likely a glitch in the sound.

Vertibirds are like The Deathstar. One well placed shot from an untrained farm boy and it's all over.

vertibirds are the weakest thing in the wastes, i'v seen more taken down by random raiders than i'v seen actually survive a conflict

The minigun does decent with damage but the bird is easy to shoot down, you can see the condition of it in VAT.

Don't think they drop bombs but the minigun will sett off secondary explosions: cars, gas canisters and suicide bombers. Return fire might also do the same

However BoS soldiers in power armor might jump from it, I saw one jump and landed in the river.

I had one vertibird blowing up above me that was pretty scary, either it exploded in the air or hit an roof, it rained huge parts and an dead soldier.

Maybe a Super Mutant Suicider decided to give up his life as a suicide bomber and throw the mini nuke instead.... I mean those things would have a killer arm, pretty much a non-mechanical Fat Man.......... dump Fat Men....... I swear, I'll just be walking along, here a whirling sound and boom... dead by some dumb Gunner or Raider just because he found a Fat Man....

Couple days ago I wandered into a three way battle between super mutants armed with energy weapons, a BOS strike team with vertibird air support and some gunners. When I realized I was out of my league, I backed away right into a par of Yao gui ... When I ran from those they chased me into the middle of the battle, just as the vertibird was shot down and crashed ... Good times, good times ...

I was thinking of how comical it would look if super mutants decided to throw nukes at you.

I chuckled a little when I repaired liberty prime. I figured he had some sort of "grenade launcher" for the nukes but instead he whips them out of his back and starts chucking these huge ass nukes at people. I was dying!

I loved Liberty Prime chucking those nukes.... until I got to far ahead of him and got one in the face. There's no dodging that. But honesty would be hilarious to see a new subset of Mutants... Super Mutant Grenadier. They toss grenades at you. And can carry nuke grenades like those stupid Children of Atom..... damn them and their love of radiation. Capturing Kingsport Lighthouse svcked because I would either walk into a nuke mine or get a nuke grenade in the face...
