Are the companions, (all kind) affected by radiation? I have to go to a place full of radiation and need to know this,

They dont appear to be. I swam in a radioactive lake for 2 hours (game time) with Dogmeat and he had no problems.

For gameplay purpose, it would be annoying to check your companions or if they refuse to go to certain areas because of radiation. I assume they just take care of themselves with their own radaway or something.
