Escaping the Preston Loop - Oh sweet joy!

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 5:36 pm

So, for most of my time in Fallout 4 I've had three active MinuteMen quests, I mostly stopped caring about them, just letting them languish at the end of my quest log and only completing them if I was wandering close by to their destinations.

Yesterday, I discovered that if you run away as fast as you can as the completion text is on screen, then you don't get another quest!! :D

Of course, now I'm scared to go near him again in case they all start up again, but that's not a bad thing! He's the only companion I don't keep at the Red Rocket for Safe Keeping anyway...

Hm... i don't mind the quests. :o

I like to farm them for exp.

I don't rly wanna progress with the story right now until i've enough perk points to do some settlement building.

And currently working on finding out how to make stealthy companions possible. xD

I've found if you get three in one go -get one off Preston, then get two more listening to Radio Freedom- hand them all in in one go, there's a decent chance that he won't give you a load more.

First one, he says he'll 'let you know...etc', second two if you're quick enough with talking to him as he begins to walk away and your character just says what now?, you can hand in the other two and not get another shoved in your face.

If you just leave him in Concord you can just help settlers directly. No more running to Preston to finish the quest.

Sound like a plan for my 2nd play through. I plan to ignore his dumb ass and Sanctuary as a whole - build up a settlement more centrally located.

Had this exact thing happen earlier - just completed 3 quests and had done another two from the radio (they don't make you hand them in). Spoke to Preston to hand the three in at once and he didn't give me another quest!
