Minutemen

I have to say I really found myself taking a liking to the minutemen,

I really enjoy having a personal army of citizen militia who risk their lives to protect each other in the interest of a better commonwealth.

Without a doubt my favorite of the main factions, everyone underestimates them but they undoubtedly show their worth

However I really hope the DLC's flesh them out more, maybe more quests and things to do for and with them rather than radiant settlement quests. I would like to maybe be able to be more of a commander, maybe pay and do missions to finance and equip them better,

Just something, they are a really cool faction and id like to see more official work done with them!

Yeah I enjoyed the minutemen missions, everyone started calling me general. I feel a need to protect them when I encounter a fire fight which the minutemen are involved with. Gotta back my boys/gals up

Meh - Preston is about as interesting as soggy bread, Marcy and Jun are both insufferable, and the no-name members are pretty useless in a fight, but I guess they are okay.

Coolest thing you get from them, is The Castle. The actual people are kind of... meh.

I agree that preston leaves something to be desired, and if i could kill the longs or at least make them leave sanctuary i would.

But i guess its what the minutemen stand for I admire and enjoy so much. Plus its kind of cool to lead your own faction directly, i hope they flesh that out more.

It is a faction without characters... All the other factions have interesting characters to talk to.

True but i dislike the brotherhood and the institute, i do not believe they have the best interests of the people in the long run. I agree the Brotherhood are most likely to form and effective government but their intolerance, prejudice and inability to compromise will see them fail. The institute cause more problems then they are worth. I absolutely love the railroad, but they have no real long term goal. The Minutemen are the best bet to set about the ability to form some form of NCR like government in the east.

Your right right now they have no character other then what you project to them which is why i would like to have the DLC expand upon them, As they can do this no matter what ending the player has taken, and they deserve more without a doubt. Basically your reasons to dislike or not care about them is the same reason id like them to be expanded upon more/better

I agree, they are the faction I sided with on my first play through, and I really like the idea of being apart of a faction that does really have any self serving goals like the other main players, and whose main focus is building up and protecting the common man in the Commonwealth.

I too wish the characters were fleshed out little more, but I thought Preston was ok, and Sturges (or whatever his name was, haha) was cool for the limited amount of time you can interact with him.

Guys, the best character in the Minutemen is Ronnie Shaw. <3 her and her female Argonian voice, wish I could romance her.

The Minutemen are easily my favorite faction, even despite how under-developed they are. I wonder how a DLC could even endeavor to address that, though - Bethesda's MO for DLC isn't to put out content specific to one existing faction. Could be they add a new group, maybe former Minutemen, and the Minutemen side of the storyline is to try and bring them back into the fold. There's definitely a lot of potential in the Minutemen history.
