What is the point of siding with the Railroad?

You're talking about memories, self awareness is more than memories, it's about the learning experience that make someone who they are. Depending on the part being damaged, most likely their personality wouldn't alter if only the cerebellum is damaged, which would only affect their memory at most. Reprogram the synth would basically shut them off, taking away their consciousness, then adding new memories and personality, new background, which would make them an entirely different person, and the old self and old personality, and their background are all disappear. It's not the same at all.

I don't see how it matters, if it just means that person will be in vegetable state forever, the person is no longer exist if the memory and consciousness of the old synth is shut off.

Just wanted to point out that this isn't something they are doing. It fact, it's quite the opposite. They are the ones responsible for creating the Supermutants in the area. They really don't care what happens above ground.

because they've written off the surface. It's a mess, a violent, stuggle-for-survival irradiated wasteland.

Lets face it, if you have a comfy suite, with room service, a cleaning maid, fresh water and food, you'd shut the blast doors too ;)

Then you completely wasted your time. With the omnipotent power of the console cheat, this particular fashion clothing line becomes so yesterday. :P

Yes. I admit to abuse of the player.additem cheat :disguise:

Most people are peasants and play on console.

The point of siding with these people to be wholly synth-lover, and anti institute without being militaristic jarhead.

Actually, the cerebellum is mostly involved with fine motor skills, precise timing, and the like. Memory is primarily the responsibility of the hippocampus and other parts of temporal lobes.

Then again, everything our brain produces, be it self-awareness or emotion, can also be lost due to brain damage. Even complete personality change, typically because of frontal lobe damage, isn't that uncommon. There are also very spefific and peculiar examples of brain damage, like the man who mistook his wife for a hat.

This can also be put on some hats. A hat and suit would be 220. Not shabby for something you can get early in the RR quests (P.A.M. will hook you up)

In this case, the change is in every single part of the person, their memory, their personality, their background, their identity, it is not just one part or two parts but every single part of the synth that changed.
