Well equipped settlements if skipping Sanctuary

Post » Sun Dec 06, 2015 8:50 pm

In an effort to give my second play-through a different feel, I'm planning to have my character avoid both Sanctuary and Concord indefinitely. He's also too low Charisma to take Local Leader, so he won't be building any crafting stations.

Are there any other settlements that have, at the very least, both a Weapons Workbench and an Armour Workbench? Currently I'm provisionally planning to base my character in Diamond City or Goodneighbour and use their communal crafting facilities, but I wouldn't mind finding him a place of his own at some point.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. All of the crafting stations require Local Leader rank 2 to construct.

I think that the castle has everything you need, but that would require not skipping conchord.

I don't use a lot of different settlements. You could try spectacle island. I know it has a chemist station. It might have the others, too?

Red rocket has everything, railroad hq or prydwen but the last two can't be connected to a supply route. Doesn't matter if you never get local leader. Also not sure if the crafting stations on prydwen are connected to each other at least. I meant to check that out and if they're connected to your trunk on that ship. Possibly Atom Cats too but same problems as the HQ's. The prydwen has a settlement marker on the ground and on the ship that are identical. I wonder if the red workbench at the airport connects to the crafting stations on the ship and if this can be tied to the network.

You can settle in the castle even if you have skipped concord. ( I have done so in my second game )You just don't get the quest with the artillery, and you can not start the Minuteman radio.

There is a lot of settlements that have all that...some armor and weapon benches are sorta hidden, but from the ones I have unlocked, most have all benches...I'm terrible with location names tho

My apologies as I can't remember the name of the settlement, but it's south west of Sanctuary.

It's got a few outlining rundown green houses (that you'll need to clear out), a fantastically large intact (no holes in the roof!) building with two working doors, and a barn-like structure which houses a chem and armor station. I do believe there's a weapon station behind the large building. When I get back on the game, I'll take notes. There's also a cooking station.

I even thought of moving there myself, because it's a nice location, a bit closer to Diamond City, and the terrain is more flat so you can build some really nice structures.

I just keep forgetting to go back. :(

Thanks - it'll be great if you can find the name, but otherwise I'll go exploring. :)

I was similarly disappointed that the crafting stations in Diamond City Market don't share resources. If they did, I'd have just set up in Home Plate and done my crafting in the market.

Ah. In that case, it's no go - I already explored it, and it only has a chem station and a cooking station, no armour or weapon stations that I could find.

I checked out the Castle. Very entertaining - I finally found a use for that Fat Man I'd been dragging around - but in terms of crafting stations, unless they're behind that big metal door, all that's provided are a cooking station and chems station.

Thankyou! I'd completely forgotten that Red Rocket was so well provisioned for crafting, probably because I tended to just skip over it due to its proximity to Sanctuary. That will do very nicely, thanks.
