Hi

im having the following troubles :

After i start my game , it crashs after 3seconds and im going back to desktop.

No error message or so.

All standardized solutions did not work at all !

I already asked the email support to this but they couldnt help so :
I was told my problem would be sent to a special section of Support but i did not receive anything from than on.

The same trash is happening to me. I've went all over, and I STILL haven't found a solution that is applicable to me, and frankly I don't think Bethesda is going to be helping me here. I tried their support page and then I sent in a support ticket with my DxDiag and what I received was an automatic response that directed me to the same support page and these forums. Why have support tickets if no one is going to look at them? But anyway, here's a description of my situation:

I just bought Fallout 4 today and when I launch it after a reboot, it starts up normally and goes through the intro and into the menu screen. When I press play, the game freezes all together and I am forced to shut it down via Task Manager. After this shut down, I am unable to launch the game anymore. It crashes immediately after launch. I've updated my drivers, I've downloaded earlier drivers, and I've returned to the most recent drivers for my GPU. I've also installed the beta update through Steam so my copy of Fallout 4 appears as "Fallout 4 [beta]" in my library.
I'm getting pretty frustrated. I'm 98% sure my PC meets the minimum requirements. I've also set the compatibility modes to Windows Vista/7/etc. I've changed all the settings Ultra/High/Low/Whatever and the Fullscreen/Windowed/Borderless fiasco. To reiterate: My drivers are up-to-date as is Fallout. Verifying my cache did nothing for me. Running as an admin foes not help me either. I have not touched any .ini files or any configurations. The most I've done of that nature is attempt to open the game directly from the .exe in the game files. It's purely vanilla, so absolutely no mods.
I'm pretty much at the end of my rope. After four hours of searching and countless installations and restarts, I'm not anywhere near getting this game to work. My friend told me of some GeForce Update specifically for Fallout 4(?). I'm not sure if it's that or what, but at this point I'm open to any suggestion.
My specs are:
Intel i5-4570 @ 3.2GHz
8GB-1600 Corsair RAM
EVGA GTX 970 SC 4GB
ASUS Maximus Hero VI
Rosewill PS 800w
Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit
Driver version -- NVidia 359.06
I haven't checked my DirectX or any of the sort, so I assume it's just DirectX11.

My DxDiag as shown:

i've been waiting so long for this game i bought my laptop last year in anticipation of this game lol.

updated gpu and did a clean install.

i did everything recommended by beth and still nothing

system specs in dxdiag....

HugeKnight you don't have a graphics card capable enough in that laptop. I saw Intel HD 4000 model.

You mean you updated your GPUs drivers.

Should i ask what's your GPU, from your dxdiag you posted?

sorry for the late reply but my gpu is GTX 780M.

i thought it was in the dxdiag my bad.

if anything else is missing i'll be happy to supply.

It's in the dxdiag, its just not the active card in 2d mode. The driver aren't the newest (Nov 25 2015) but shouldn't be a problem.

The problem is that it might not be switching to it on 3d applications. Make sure fallout4 is set to 'high performance' in the nvidia control panel.

it is set to high performance i know because i did it manually through the nvidia control panel

So what now ? Any1 got a fix for that Sh** ?

Well, if the game doesn't use the 3D capable GPU, NO PATCH ever will fix that.

The OP should find a way to activate the GTX780M. !!!

As it stands, the never games out there will just not run.

Have you tried to make a Fallout 4 profile within your Nvidia control panel, and assign the GTX 780M?

At worse, try to factory reset your Laptop.

mark all my other games run on my gtx even fallout activates the gpu. i dont understand what you mean please explain.

Normally it should work without doing anyhting. As you mentioned above all your games are running and using your dedicated GPU.

Why Fallout 4 doesn't go that way, it's a mystery. So you may wanna force that through making a profile especially for Fallout 4.

I have the same issue. Tried everything, have a normal desktop pc with a Geforce GTX 760 ti, talked to nvidia and made two bug reports to bethesda but no answer and no solution yet : (.

Mate I fallout already does activate the GPU and not integrated graphics I have also already done the forcing its still not working

Ask for your money back on steam. and wait for a potential fix in the next year if it even arrive.

The issue is there from the launch and Bethesda don't give a [censored] about it.

They must have a big issue burried in their engine and i doubt they'll spend days and ressources on trying to fix it and days of cross testing for so few people.

When too few testing is made and big defect are catch way too late, the fixing cost increase. And i think they're at this point and won't consider working on it.

this is complete and utter [censored] most 'modern' games dont work. wth im am very disappointed i have been waiting for fo4 for years now.

its funny how some indie developer's games run much better than the [censored] AAA games.

Never had problems with the launcher. From oblivion to FO4.

I can say that this happens to people in FNV and Skyrim. FOr reasons other than the mentioned titles.

As much as people would like it to "just work", it isnt always that easy on these incredibly complex machines.

It's amazing they work as well as they do most of the time.

just cause 3 and fallout 4 both dont work for me and most other games need fudging around to work lol.

i know what you mean but usually when you cintact the company that makes a game they tell you what you have to do to make the game work and/or troubleshoot it.

Yes, obvously because beth can't help hundreds of users with quite different problem scenarios. That sounds weird i know...

So, i guess we are alone on that. But i thing we should make the best out of it...

You are connecting with CS reps that probably have limited knowledge or understanding as to why these bugs are happening.

You don't speak wiht programmers or engineers. They likely log the issue and send it off to someone (I would hope they do that anyway).

That's all they can do about it. Meanwhile they send you here in hopes someone has found a solution.

We can try to dig into this further. It really is up to you how much you want to try and do.

What does your event viewer say? Start menu textbox type event viewer.

You can clear the logs first and recreate the issue. Just right click the log and select clear log.

You want to check the sys and app logs under windows logs folder. See if that helps.

There is a date and time stamp for each event.

The fact that this is happening to another game (maybe more) might indicate an issue with your setup.
