This game simply does not work

Post » Sun Dec 06, 2015 1:44 pm

Hello

I bought this game to try gaming on my brand new lenovo yoga 700 , basically it does not work , firstly i bought the disc from game , put it in my disc drive it told me to log into steam it then used 18gb of mobile data to update the game , the first time i started it it worked until the bunker exit then it shut down and will not reopen. It says to download the beta updates by right clicking the game in my steam library and then click settings all good except when i right click there are no settings to click . I also have flight simulator and an old tomb raider that work fine.

Is it me or the game , i also tried to download updated nvidea drivers { surely a new computer would have the latest drivers) but that would not work saying java is not compatible any ideas as its driving me mad.

Disable your antivirus, or any similar program doing that:

Uninstall your old Java version: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/remove_olderversions.xml

Install the new one: http://www.java.com/en/

Restart your comp.

----------

Disconnect your laptop from the internet.

Download the latest drivers from the official Nvidia homepage.

You have most probably a Nvidia GT940M 2GB GPU.

<Your drivers from the Lenovo homepage are dated: 9/29/2015>

Nvidia has some newer drivers: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/96081

Read the Highlights as well. !!!

If you install those drivers or any drivers. make a clean installtion procedure.

Keep am eye on this: http://www.sevenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/312657d1396562995-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems-clean-install-drivers-set-up.jpg

-----------

< If you have the intention to connect your Laptop to your TV, through the Micro HDMI-out - HD Audio driver allows the GPU to pass sound through that cable. >

< I wouldn't install Nvidia Experience as it can cause problems with some games. >

Your laptop may not have a dedicated graphics card, so this game, and most other 3D games probably will not work. Intel HD Graphics is not on the list of supported video cards for this game.

Good find, I googled the model number and found a snazzy 21 incher and thought that was top of the line for the range and that had HD Graphics only.

So, that is the first thing the OP needs to verify, do they have a dedicated graphics solution or not.

If they do, then it could be the software that switches between the two video solutions. That is not fun to sort either.

Yes, but the link indicates there are options. I purchased a Lenovo E420 about 5 years back. Nothing to write home about and not meant for gaming. But I dropped some extra money in a few places that suited my needs at the time and it's a much better configuration than someone who has a standard E420. We need more specific information to help.

Well, does it have the GT940M 2GB GPU?

That's not specific enough since there are apparently several graphics options for that model laptop. If you don't know what kind of graphics capability it has, then post a Dxdiag report (in spoiler tags) to this thread. If you need instructions on how to do this, http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1122570-how-to-dxdiag/.
