Up until just recently I had no problem with fallout on my laptop Gigabyte p15f v3 but now I am getting the crash to desktop on the splash intro screen ,has anyone encounter and have a fix for this? the only thing that I think might be the problem is the integrated intel card but I don't know how to disable it in the bios

specs

  • 4th Gen Intel? Core? i7 Processor
  • NVIDIA? GeForce? GTX 950M DDR3 2GB
  • 16 gigs ram
  • windows 8.1

Despite what people may say dont force disable it in your bios unless absolutely neccesary. BSOD's, crashes while loading windows, and black screen etc etc can happen. Since a lot of laptops keep trying to access the onboard chip on boot.

Try to force the application to use the dedicated GPU, read this article;

http://www.howtogeek.com/175281/how-to-force-graphics-options-in-pc-games-with-nvidia-amd-or-intel-graphics/

If you have any questions or still wont be able to get it to work feel free to reply and I'll gladly help to force it off.

OK I followed the article

I have made the Nvidia control panel under the global settings run high performance Nvidia processor .

On the program settings I made sure the fallout 4.exe was added and to use globale settings (high-perfomance processor)

On the set physx configuration tab the select a physx processor is set to geforce gtx 950m

But I am still getting the ctd during the opening splash screen
