Audio Popping and Light Lag Indoors

Post » Sun Dec 06, 2015 10:59 pm

I'm getting some audio popping and terrible lag when I'm indoors and in well lit rooms. Also get the occasional lag when I'm in cities, but that is expected. Besides that, the game runs pretty well. I just updated my drivers which didn't seem to help.
Processor: AMD FX™-8120 Eight-Core Processor at 3.1 GHz
RAM: 8GB (2GB VRAM)
Card: AMD Radeon HD 7600 Series
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix these problems I'm having?

Try turning off the Gamepad and Vibration, unless you are using a gamepad.

If you are using the keyboard and mouse, and have a game pad plugged into your system, unplug the game pad. Some USB ports don't like the game pad plugged in, in that case try a USB3 port if you have one

Yeah, I'm using a 360 controller from gamestop. And I do have a USB3 port I'm using. The popping always happens like 10 seconds into the main menu, sometimes when I open the pip boy or any inventory and rarely during gameplay. When I close the pip boy or any inventory, the sound popping goes away.

OK, just for grins, unplug the game pad, disable it and the vibration in the game and see if you have the same issues.

It might have fixed it in the pip boy and inventories, but I can't confirm. It still happens at the main menu and on loading screens sometimes. The bigger problem is the lag I get from light, especially in the institute. I don't think it's related to shadows, but that's definitely the bigger problem for me.
