Help!

I'm doing the Duty or dishonor mission, I'm at the search for clues part and I'm in front of the boxes but I can't open them. I have no option that come up. I tried exiting the prydwen and coming back, tried fast travel to somewhere else and come back, tried in and out of the power armour... no way to open the damn things.

I even reloaded a very old save, much before the quest started, did everything again and... the stupid bug is still there. I've also noticed that I can't talk to Danse while in the general area around the boxes. If I go down the stairs I get the "command" option when looking at him, but not near those boxes.

This is quite frustrating...

One more detail, if I am in "command" mode with my companion, I can direct them to inspect both boxes, but they don't want to do it. The moment I close the command dialogue, the boxes become part of the decor again and I don't have an option to open them.
