Covenant

I was snooping around Covenant trying to figure out where the Compound was when night rolled around. I was in the main office and the Mayor guy came in and said "closing the office". This left me in there by myself, so I grabbed a key to get out, but when I opened the door everyone in the town was hostile towards me. I ended up killing them all, but was curious to know if that is what was supposed to happen. I got a really creepy vibe from the townsfolk and I thought the quest was going to resolve by having me sleep in the town and then they try to kill me at night or something. I'm just curious to know if there was a pathway through that quest that didn't involve mowing everyone down, because although I was trespassing and did steal something, I know I wasn't in anyone's line of sight and I wasn't informed that I was trespassing, so it seems to me like it was either a glitch or a fluke.

Yes, you interrogate people to find out about a Compound.

Then you get the key to open up the door to the locked building at the end of town, check the computer, and find out about the Compound.

But you'll end up killing the townsfolk anyway.

It's okay, they're all psychos.

You can still do it too.

I picked up on that pretty early, the whole place just had that vibe to it lol. I feel like a bit of a dike though, because I never did split the bounty with Honest Dan.

Well to be honest you dont rly have to kill em you can also side with them but i do agree that they are conductding highly unethical experiments that cause the deaths of many innocents(and that applys no matter on your personal stance on synths as well since their experiments lead to deaths of countles humans as well, so rly there is no ethical/moral way of letting them continiue)

The whole place is f*cked up. The Mayor and Doctor especially piss me off.

Did you gain access to the town after killing them all?

You gain access to the settlement by eather killing em or siding with them, problem is Covenant is probably the most bugged settlement in the game, so without extensive usage of console commands its pretty [censored] which is a shame since i wanted to purge it and use it as personal base(for me and my favourite companions).

As said its doable if you play around with console commands but it does require excesive usage of it so ill just wait till it gets fixed(since excesive usage of console commands are known to cause issues to long term save stability)

I was going to build a settlement there but instead ended up using it as a personal retreat. And yes, it required liberal use of the console to change ownerships and remove unwanted furnishings and the like. I'm looking forward to someone doing a Covenant overhaul mod when the GECK comes out.

Their experiment based on Bladerunner is also stupid.

It is a quest with a nice "evil" ending.

Since no one could actually think these idiots' plans are working.
