Elevator in Lucky 38

Post » Thu Jun 17, 2010 1:34 am

Hopefully somebody here has had the same problem and found a work around for it. I have 63 hours in the game and I do not want to start over. I still have The house always wins I and Wild card: Change in management Quests which both require access to the Elevator in the Lucky 38. Only problem is when I go up to it I cannot click on it. When you highlight it it says "A) Open Door to Lucky 38 Floor 22 Suite" Pressing A does absolutely nothing. Victor is standing next to the elevator, but I cannot talk to him either. Pressing A when it says talk to victor does nothing. I read somewhere you can just kill victor and the elevator will work again (I did try this and it does work), but it is an unacceptable answer as it doesn't allow me to play the House always wins missions they just fail after killing him. Also all robots become hostile inside the lucky 38 so I can no longer do anything with the snow globes then either. I also saw somebody say that just use an older save file. Well I went back through all of mine and it seems to be the same issue on all of them. If somebody is out there that figured this out I'd like to thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks
Mike

I made a topic a bit earlier on how to fix this.

It is here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1130673-victorelevator-fix/

However if you want the short version, go into the Lucky 38, try clicking on Victor a few times(you may have to try clicking on the elevator and then Victor, that's how I did it), then open up your companion wheel with any companion. Select the talk to option, then scroll down to the bottom of the dialog and choose goodbye. As soon as the dialog closes you should hear Victor ask you where to, and the elevator dialog box should pop up. Choose where you want to go, and after that it should be fixed and Victor will behave normally. When I did it I used Rex, but I have been told by others that it works with any companion. I hope it's a permanent fix but I don't know. All I can tell you is I've logged in about 15 hours since this glitch hit me and have not had a problem with it since. Best of luck!
