What Difficulty Will You Play on First?

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2015 3:52 am

normal. i want to play the game as it was intended, and not have artificial nerfs that make no sense(higher difficulties) or crutches/ handicaps (lower difficulties).

i never got the whole notion of "lets make everything as hard as possible". its completely alien to me.

Is there a don't hurt me mode lol, but seriously in fo3 I started off on very hard simply to power level faster...here's the kicker I'd turn it to very easy after level 20 or so just so I could DEMOLISH everything lol

I agree. This is why I really like the Souls series. Die over and over again and learn from your mistakes till you master each encounter. That's what gaming is all about IMO.

I really like the feeling of making it through a battle by the skin of me teeth. Knowing that if I did one thing wrong or got careless that I would be punished for it. The end result is much more rewarding than just running into a full room of enemies and just being able to run up to everyone and eat bullets. Although, that can be fun at times.

And now with the new system that I will not spoil. Looks like you will be rewarded for your efforts.

I will play very hard. Normal is super mega easy in Bethesda games. I want to be careful, fear for my life in the game, and make smart choices. I am going a sniper build. If I was melee I might play on hard.

Not sure. Not a big fan of making enemies bullet sponges to make the game "harder" makes my gun feel like a nerf gun. Maybe easy, maybe survivalist. Ill play around a bit to find out what I like

I would love if in hard the enemies health was the exact same but you could take far fewer hits as the pc

From my understanding if you play on harder you have better enemies that drop better gear and it is % based. Is this right or no?

Exactly this. Nothing about increasing the difficulty in a Bethesda game makes it any more challenging or something engaging to overcome, just creates damage sponges that I do not find fun or difficult in the slightest.

Leaning more towards easy / normal. I just want to get the power armor and kill everything.

Taking more damage and doing less damage and having more enemies spawn does indeed make a game more difficult. Plus more Legendary Mutants spawn.

Normal difficulty as always, unless turning up the difficulty does something besides making enemies become spongier and hit harder.

Survival. If it's not in the game, I'll just mod it in the game.

Normal. Nothing breaks the 4th wall quite like shooting someone in the head at point blank range with a shotgun and having them shrug it off.

I start at normal, and do try to keep it, but since it will be a first pkaythrough there are times I drop a notch if it becomes too difficult., then back to normal again. First two playthroughs are inconsistent for me, thereafter I build up on difficulty.

Probably start with normal to get the feeling of things...

If it's not balanced for me I'll go with higher difficulity until it feels like a challenge.
