so much for the 10th

Post » Mon Dec 07, 2015 11:54 pm

Amazon gives me weird dates all the time that end up changing at the last second, though I often get games from Amazon 1-3 days after release.

On a side note for anyone that doesn't know, games legitimately (by that I mean with the customer doing nothing) shipping/arriving early happens all the time although today is quite early. I sometimes get games a day or two early from Best Buy. Most recent was Halo 5.

Sorry I'm just being irritable that once again those of us who played by the rules get second place because someone did not give a crap about doing it right in the first place.

Has that ever happened with any other game? I wonder if it's a result of the game being designed to run mods on consoles. Pretty interesting.

I tend to avoid pre-ordering games from Amazon because they never deliver on release date.

I predict you're going to spend a lot of your life being very put out.

Don't sweat it. The 10th will be here soon enough. It's a single player game, no one is gaining an advantage by playing it a bit early.

Chillax.

I already have.

To be fair compared to working in family law it's a minor irritant.

Agreed. They deserve it well.

However, down to the base there's only one to be held responsible, and that is the publisher shiping copys earlie to stores. If they hadn't shiped any copys before the 10th, PC players, including me, wouldn't be disappointed by the fact there's now players that are allowed to enjoy the game earlie. It will also be complicated to actually figure the stores and punish them for making earlie sales possible. Right now I just want to slap the vendors by forwarding such a [censored] move.

People having the chance to play earlie could just have kept that information secret so others won't be pissed. But they decided to not play by the rules, hurt others feelings, stir up controversy and create discontent. Know this, everything will fall back to you in one or another way. You can't escape Karma... ;)

Could be a preload for the game and then with an update it becomes playable a day later. Steam always had bandwidthissues with large game releases. But if not, I′m in for a treat. :fallout:

Oh man, I had no idea! Wow. Why wouldn't Beth do the same thing to console versions? Weird.

I'm happy to wait for my copy in the mail, I'm not about to pirate anything. I pre-ordered and have been waiting for 7 years, so a few more days will probably be ok =)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you would be locked out of the game till the 10th even if you had the disc.

Yeah I don't believe that for one second. You must be confusing game streaming onto Windows 10.

Nope, same rule applies to console. That was my point. They can lock it out unless it's a review version.

I think the theory is sound, but all the examples of leaked content out there tend to imply there must be away around the lockout on consoles. I'm guessing it has to do not being connected to the console services at some point during install or after install? You would think they would require some unlock with a connection before the game is playable, but there could be some way around that (or it simply does not work properly).

Per your point, I have yet to see definitive proof a retail copy that someone got early is playing on a console now (not that I'm looking that hard, either).

It's been stated that they sent review copies to certain people.

I've had the odd pre-ordered PS4 game a day early in the past - and played it. And no download required for consoles... https://mobile.twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/661573809301020672?p=v

so now that its set for the 9th instead. my steam account says it will unlock in approximately 5 days 16 hours does that mean midnight 1201 am on the 9th now or midnight 11: 59 pm before the 10th?

That's why I stated RETAIL copy in my post. No doubt many of these leaks are from the review copies, but the possibility of an early shipped retail copy working on a console does exist.

While the full game is supposedly on disk for consoles (Blu-Ray), that does not mean day one patches won't be available (and possibly required) when the game officially unlocks.

Walmart cancelled my Pip-Boy Edition pre-order! They tried to charge me on October 29th before the money was in my account. Even though I contacted them on the 30th to tell them that the money was there, they never tried again. I seriously doubt they would have shipped it then. So why would they charge it?
