Red screen of death?

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2015 4:32 am

Hi there - hope someone can help me - I have been playing MMO's and RPG's for ages and have NEVER gotten a RED screen (of death) = blue screen for sure - Never RED.

I have been (trying) to play Fallout 4 now for a few days. I have updated my graphic (Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Chip type: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x683D)
DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Device Type: Full Device
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_683D&SUBSYS_04291043&REV_00
Display Memory: 4846 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1006 MB
Shared Memory: 3840 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor
Monitor Model: VE247
Monitor Id: ACI2493
Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.000Hz)
Output Type: DVI)
and video drivers.
I still get FREEZING - sometimes if it just for a min or so but then sometimes the game crashes and I get the RED screen.
I am at a loss and if anyone could tell me the best settings or what I may be able to do to improve this situation - I would be more that grateful!
USUALLY when I have had a Freezing or crashing problem it has been the settings.... once this has been tweaked then I seem to be fine.
Thank you so much in advance for any links or suggestions you may be able to offer - HUGS Pam

If you are not going to post the entire dxdiag report in the initial post, then people aren't going to respond. USE SPOILER TAGS.

The Red Screen of Death, is usually related to graphics card drivers and/or features installed with the graphics driver.

Thanks for the info - I just tried this and found NO SoftOSD folder.

Sorry for the dxdiag - I have no idea how to do a spoiler - I was really hoping that the info I provided would be enough to help.

Just as an FYI though your GPU is a model below minimum required and doesn't have 2GB of VRAM. That probably won't help.

Big Daddy and Niohoggr - thanks - I apologize for the dumb questions and thanks for putting up with me. I just lost my husband a few months ago and he was my "techy". I know how to (usually) play my games but know virtually nothing about the hardware end of my system.

I can't express how much I appreciate the help!
