Immortality Glitch- Fix needed

Post » Mon Dec 07, 2015 6:57 pm

I went into the Glowing Sea for the story quest and about halfway to Virgil's hideout I noticed that the radiation stopped. It had been at <1 rads for the whole time because I was in the hazmat suit. Anyway I didn't think anything of it. Well, I got stormed by a bunch of enemies and my hp fell to zero. Instead of dying, however, my HUD disappeared for a second the enemies appeared victorious until I got up my HUD reappeared and I kept on fighting. I didn't know what was going on so I kept playing in a few other scenarios this happened again. Eventually I went somewhere else on the map and simply tested if I was "immortal" and I was. It is really ruining my immersion. I have mods installed but I don't think that's the issue. I would really appreciate the help.

OK do that after you backed up your Fallout4.ini file in the following directory: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\my games\Fallout4

Ad this in the Fallout4.ini file:

[GamePlay]
bEssentialTakeNoDamage=0

I don't know if you're messing with me or not but I did that and the issue persisted. I changed the bEssentialTakeNoDamage= 0 to bEssentialTakeNoDamage= 1. Doing this brought back radiation but when I died my HUD still disappeared and I came back to life right away.

Nevermind! Nevermind! You sir are a gentleman and a scholar! I simply put the other thing into FalloutPref.ini instead of Fallout.ini THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Also keep in mind (after that immortality glitch), it could be the case that if you remove that line after you finish the quest, you will encounter the same problem.

If that happens, just leave that line as it is...in your Fallout4.ini file. ;)
