Which difficulty should I play at?

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2015 3:33 am

I want a challenge but tbh I was never a big fan of Skyrim's master difficulty, it just mulitplied enemy health and made the game a pain in the ass than a challenge. I heard the highest difficulty gives a btter chance of legendary encounters, but I'm not sure. The first Bethesda employee to respond will get to decide the difficulty I start at. Must not be below Normal.

I assume like other bethesda games you can change in in game anytime in any situation so just pick one that feels right to you.

You mean Legendary difficulty for Skyrim?

Becuase master is a joke.

In games like Fallout and Skyrim, where you can avoid combat until you have leveled and geared up like crazy hardest difficulty is not a problem.

As long as the AI is dumb as *** no fight is too hard as long as you have the gear.

In Fallout hardcoe mode might be too much because of no in fight healing.

did previous bethesda games have achievements for the higher difficulties? i cant remember but if it does, switching in-game will nullify those achievements

I usually start at Hard and then adjust it from there when I start getting too powerful.

I start off as normal... but do the same thing if I feel like I'm getting too powerful. However, there's lots of ways to control you own difficulty level within the confines of one difficulty as well. Toughness might look like a good perk but if it makes you op and you end up having to raise the difficulty then there was really never any reason to take it.

Very true, I only select perks if I feel like I really need them, not in order to max power my character. I also start using lighter armor and smaller weapons if I become OP. When you start getting stronger, it's fun to use weapons you really like instead of the ones that deal most damage and wear the cooler looking armor, even if it doesn't protect as well.

I'll dial it up a notch from the get go and take it from there. I want to avoid bullet spongey enemies so i will keep it relatively tame, rather the game be a little to easy so i can "handicap" myself in other ways than a challenge that is based entirely on enemies eating a whole clip to the face and asking for seconds.

Hoping for rather early mods that scale up weapon damage, if previous games and teaser footage is anything to go by. Until then, I will probably stick to hard. Bullets (should) hurt, you know? D:
