Fallout 4: The safest BGS game to date?

Agree to disagree or disagree to agree. Either way is fine with me but do it civilly. Stating someone's opinion is worthless is rude at best and not really part of the preferred way of discourse around here.

Never claimed it was an upgrade or an innovation. I was stating things that were different from FO 3 to 4 when you said they were the same game.

The intention wasn't to be rude. It was to point out that speaking about games as if you are an authority without actually playing them is silly. It's the equivalent of someone who doesn't know anything about global warming talking to an audience of thousands about global warming. My comments were meant to point out the futility in debating something the other poster knows nothing about. Nothing more.

Fallout 4 doesn't need to be identical to Fallout 3 to be essentially the same experience. Obviously graphical fidelity and gameplay have been improved since Fallout 3. My point is that Fallout 4 is more of an upgraded Fallout 3 (with the feature you pointed out being removed) rather than an actual next gen sequel that really is bringing anything new to the table. Yes, there is the voiced protagonist, but that is always a divisive feature for those who play RPGs. I personally love the fact BGS added a voiced protagonist, but know others who will absolutely hate it.

When I read "Play it safe", I mistook it for content-wise, not mechanics. Fallout was controversial and impactful because of what was implied in the character's choices and actions... Did they play it safe in this respect with FO4?

Going to have to point out a few things here.

1. You claim that PA being a vehicle changes nothing but I think we all know that isn't true. In FO3 you could carry like 3 suits and put it on like any other armor.

2. You claim that the new settlement building system is just an upgrade to the previous house build mechanics we already had. Honestly this is the most asinine part of this entire thread and so laughable I'm not even going to bother explaining why it isn't. It's self evident.

3. Cover system. Failed to mention that. That's an undeniable revolution for a Beth game.

I'm sure there is more that hasn't been revealed yet but those alone put FO4 on the same lvl of revolution as any previous title.

If your ears are unworthy then why would I offer you my proclamations? like your post, you seem to be equally devoid of intelligence...
I'd suggest offering a point of substance, it may fare better than your attempts at humour.

ok simple question

What could they add that would actualy be new and ground breaking?

The only things anyone could think of at the most recent gdc round table boiled down to

Actual human level AI capable of responding to what the player does and says. In other words an AI that can pass the Turing test and gets past the uncanny valley

Gameworld level economic system that actualy responds globally to what is actualy happening in game, not just just fixed scripts for each faction or merchant. Basicaly an EvE level economy.

A smart GM AI that dynamically adjusts on the fly to how the player is doing in game, effectively eliminating the difficulty sliders

Far too many personal insults and bickering to let this thread continue. And there has already been another moderator caution in the thread.
