A major gripe of mine

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2015 6:30 am

First, let me start with the positives. The game looks gorgeus, the combat mechanics are near perfection and the enviroments are beyond what I expected

However...

Am I the only one bottered by the fact enemydetection doesn't seem to be a part of the game anymore? As someone who alway's been going for sneaky character relying on stealth and cunning I find this to be completely devastating to my experience as every battle becomes a frustraiting ordeal of trial and error. It's come to the point where I'm ready to just give up 8 hours in and start a new character over. I understand this is more realistic and some people apreciate the challenge, but I just don't find it fun anymore as up till now it all seems to boil down into pure luck that an enemy won't be standing arround the next corner and blow the whistle on you.

Personally, I love that enemy detection is gone.

So what, the red/blue npc indicators are gone?

Good.

Umm... I'm only a couple of hours in, so I'm not 100% positive on anything, but I'm pretty sure I saw red markers on the compass for the

radroaches you encounter in Vault 111 near the start.

Oh damn and I thought it was weird they would get rid of a hand-holding element.

To be honest the game has to cater for the majority and I just don't thing stealth is a huge factor in fallout games me or any of my friends have never took the stealth route on any fallout.

Ok - loaded up to double-check. Yup, definitely red markers on compass.

If I could load a wee jpeg, I could show y'all, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how. How do you get stuff into My Media?

its not completely gone. either way, im glad that its no longer some kind of psychic power. as for stealth character play throughs, it just means you have to spend more time cautiously scoping out your targets. Which isn't just more realistic, its a core element to stealth gameplay. The red blips in the past completely svck out that element of stealth, what is to stalk your targets/prey.
