Hi there,

so, the protagonist was freezed for 200 years and shaun is 60 years old? and he has been working inside the institute for 100 years?

Shaun was taken by Kellogg 60 years before the Sole Survivor came out, that's how long he's been in the Institute.

Derrame, It goes something like this:

You were freezed in 2077, then, after probably 140 years Kellog came and stole Shaun (Shaun was frozen, that's why he didn't age).
You wake up after 60 years and the story begins.

Kellog has a reduced ageing process, thats why he didn't die.

I must have missed the part with the 100 years of working there?

The questline just shows you step by step, that your sense of when Shaun was taken vs. when you defrosted was totally wrong, so while you were in there for 200years, Shaun was taken after 140years.

Here, let me explain:

2077- You and family go into Vault 111 and are frozen. The vault basically freezes you and the others in time. Glorified preservers if you want to call it that.

2227- Kellogg abducts Shaun and murders wife/hubby. You're put to sleep again.

60 years pass, but you have no concept of it because you were asleep. To you, the War and the murder/abduction happened in the span of minutes, hours tops.

2287- Shaun is now 60.

Kellogg himself, as Shaun explains, had been heavily augmented with cybernetics that prolonged his longevity and usefulness far greater than a normal human life span. Basically, he's chronologically over 100 years old.

The point of the surprise bits were to trick you into thinking that you were looking for an infant, then a ten-year-old boy when ironically, that child was now an old man.
