I'm a big fan of the brotherhood of steel and I actually feel like that you should be able to achieve the rank of elder in the upcoming dlc any thoughts?

It would generally be very difficult to have any advances in a faction storyline take place in DLC, simply because not everyone is a part of that faction or even on good terms with them. Also I'd prefer no more Brotherhood tbh, they've had enough attention in this game in my opinion.
