At the start of the game when registering for the vault, once I have entered a name for my character I cannot do anything else. I can't leave the name box to allocate points etc. No mouse or keyboard controls allow me to move on from the name box. The game is stuck at this point. I can allocate points before entering a name, but once I start typing a name everything else on the screen locks up. The name field stays editable throughout. In the end, I have to shut the game down via Windows. I have had endless exchanges with Bethesda, which have covered all the usual stuff - graphics drivers, error checking, system reports, disconnect all peripheral devices etc. Nothing has fixed the problem. Eventually they told me to ask the question here in the forums. Ummm, aren't they supposed to be the experts on their own game??! So anybody got any thoughts before this goes back for a refund? I'm running Win 7.

You need to press either or in order to confirm the name selection (once selected) before you can modify the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. selections or Continue.

Do you have a non standard keyboard?

My keyboard is standard layout QWERTY that I've used for years. I've no reason to think there's anything odd about it. It works with all other software / games. I have tried just about every key to exit the Name field, but nothing works. Also all mouse buttons, scroll wheel etc. I can modify the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. selections, if I do it before entering a name. But once I type anything in the Name field, I'm stuck there. At no point does the Accept button light up.

Also try to change some numbers of your abilities up and down (after or before yo enter your name)

Do you write with capital letters?

I had some kind of problems yesterday at the exact same menu, and i changed the numbers, deleted the name and so on again and again, and at the end the accept button did work. !!!

AGAIN you need to use or to finalize the Name input, once selected. NO OTHER BUTTONS WILL WORK, including the mouse.
