The STAY command for companions is BS

At least in Skyrim - you tell your companion to stay, they will hold there position but will still defend the area!

In Fallout 4 you tell - Preston to STAY - and the [censored] will just stand there gormless, and not attack any enemy's even when they attack him???

At least if they held position but still attack enemy's they could be tactically useful... But as they are companions are a bit crap too be honest... Apart from the dog!

Yeah companions aren't great. I'd go it alone if I didn't need to use them as pack mules

They need to fix that - cos if I could tell the companion hold position, but they would still attack anyone who comes in range you could at least sett them up in a sniping position to give you cover!! As they the pretty useless....
